Each of the characters has a default Guardian assigned to them that cannot be unequipped and the pairing of the character and the Guardian is called a Unit. The characters determine the base stats for the Unit and the type of wearable Equipment they can equip and the Guardian determines the skills for the Unit. Guardians can be leveled up after battles or by feeding them other Guardians which increases the number of available skills and strengthens existing skills.
Each Unit can have up to four Companions equipped who provide additional skills or effect for the unit. Equipment provides additional stats for the unit and additional range of skills which can be leveled up to increase their effectiveness after battles or by feeding them other Equipment. There are four Equipment slots (main hand, off-hand, head, and body).
The following are the base stats for a Unit.
Health Points (HP)
A measure of Unit's health. When a Unit's HP falls to zero, it will be knocked out and unable to participate in battle.
Magic Points (MP):
Determines how many spells a Unit can cast. When a Unit's MP falls to zero, they may no longer cast any spells.
