Introduction

A large game, onto a small disc. Playing your favourite Nintendo Character, but abusing their famous abilities, to kill their concurrents. Today I'm writing a review about an old game Super Smash Brothers. Melee, for the Nintendo Gamecube as we speak.

Graphics

In my opinion, not the greatest graphics. Nicely done on the smoothing and coloring, but the design of the character were just to simple, and not much detail. In adventure mode, I was fighting against fox, where he's friends were helping him in the small fighters. The animating of the voice acting was horribly done. 2 frames, and that was it. Ofcourse this is just a small detail. The moves however are awesome to look at, and in Slow-Motion melee, you will enjoy all the funny details.

Sound

Not everything makes sound. Fighting on a space ship doesn't make you hear any rocket sounds. That's quite dissapointing because that really gives you a nice feeling. But every move a character make, will let you hear sounds. And it can sometimes turn out funny. (Press the up arrow from the + pad, you'll see what I mean)

Gameplay

Unlike other fighting games. SSBM doesn't use hard combo's. They are most of time a combo from 2 buttons together. (Control Pad + B/A button). And unlike other fighting games, you don't fight till the health bar reaches zero. No, you smack each other long enough untill they reach 100%+, and then perform a deadly move that will blast them out of the screen. Fun! You also use various of items troughout every stage. Knock everyone out with a hammer, turn invisible, and even throw a pokeball at somebody's head!

Lastability

If you're done with the Classic & Adventure mode, you still can continue with them. Because there are hell lots of characters and trophy's to get for your hard work. Some characters are only unlockable by playing mass melee's with other players (or 3 other CPU's). Mr. Game and watch, 1000 matches, better tell your friends about it.

Overall

Super Smash Brothers, is not a fun game for solo. Playing with a friend, with 3 friends, or even more is lots of more fun. Because the predictable things from the CPU bots, and their stupidness makes it quite boring. There's also quite lot of more features to do in the game, that's not designed for the game. (King of the hill, smack everyone from a rock, untill you survive.)
