Introduction

I don't get why this game kept getting such bad reviews. It isn't the best game ever but it isn't as bad as electronic gaming monthly and gamespot make it out to be.
It's really a fun game, especially for fans of the console versions.

Graphics

These graphics are some of the greatest on the DS so far. The camera even turns with Spidey as he makes turns around corners(keep in mind the whole game is side scrolling except for some parts in boss battles, but i'll get to that). The characters and backrounds look smooth and [characters] animate really nicely. But inbetween levels when it has photo stills from the clips of the console versions, the characters are really ugly up close

Sound

The music gets repetiteve and overdramatic, but voice clips(though also repetiteve) and other sounds taken from the console versions sound really nice. Except whenever spidey says, "I have to Hurry." If that is Toby Mcquire's voice taken from the console version, it did not come through smoothly, that's for sure.

Gameplay

Gameplay is good. I don't know what the mags mean when they say there isn't much use of the touch screen. Sure most of the time you just select a move to map to the R button. But several times you'll use it to diffuse bombs, web fend off enemy attacks, and in one case web up holograms. The levels obviously, have objectives, like rescue all hostages and complete in under 5 miniutes. The major flaw here is the secondary objectives. At the end of every level, you get a grade based off of how you did with the secondary objectives. First time through each level, you will probably get a C, maybe an F. They usually ask you to complete the level in an even lower amount of time, but some levels are so maze-like and huge you may have to try again several times before you can do it.

Lastability

You'll probabyly play the game a couple times over again. The game isn't very long anyways. It may say over 20 levels on the back of the case, but there's only 14. At least it's fun though.

Overall

This really a good game, so ignore Gamespot and the game magazines, they never know a good game when they see one.
