In Predator: Hunting Grounds you can change or upgrade your player class, weapons, gear, and perks providing they are the same level as you are currently on. Each weapon the members of the Fireteam can use has its own leveling restrictions so it is recommended that you experiment but also focus on leveling the items you know your character will find useful for extended mags, better sights, and improvements to damage through upgrades. Ultimately the best loadout for your Fireteam character will be determined on the class you choose and your personal preference. It is recommended that regarless of the class of human you decide to play you select the 'Efficient' perk and always keep it in all loadouts. The 'Efficient' perk grants your character increased experience form all sources, and since everything for customization is gated by player level, you should use it often.
A strong initial loadout is the assault rifle as your primary weapon paired with a shotgun as your secondary weapon. You will find that ammunition for the assault rifle can be scarce if you do not locate an ammunition resupply so conserve the primary ammunition you do have for when the Predator appears and use the shotgun whenever possible in the meantime. If you use up all your primary ammo it will leave you in a bad position when you encounter the Predator as you will be forced to only engage it at close range.
There are eight different items you can to choose from in the gear category, the ones you pick should be based on usefulness for the class type you chose.
• Frag Grenade
Standard grenade.
• Field Syrette

• Flashbang

• Ammo Bag

• Medical Kit
