Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX Cheats and Tips

After choosing a Pokemon and picking a partner to form your very own rescue team your objective is to enter randomly generated dungeons to save Pokemon that have got themselves stuck in treacherous locations like Silent Chasm and Frosty Forest. The game is exclusively available on the Nintendo Switch.

  • How to Defeat Pokemon

You can use various items to defeat hostile Pokemon in addition to the abilities of your Rescue Team. Other ways to defeat enemy Pokemon are to lead them to traps, use moves like Roar to push them into lava, or evade them by going to places only Pokemon with a specific type can go to.

Check out our How to Choose the Best Partner guide to find out how you can get the perfect partner Pokemon.

  • How to Avoid Dungeon Traps

Make sure when exploring the later harder dungeons in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX you do so with care otherwise you may find yourself accidentally stepping on invisible traps that will hinder the progress of you and your team. Stepping on a trap may affect your stats, inflict damage, and simply mess up with your items.

There are however items that let you avoid these traps such as Trap Scarf, See-Trap Orb, Trapbust Orb, and Google Specs. IQ Skills which perform similar functions are Trap Seer and Trap Avoider. You can even use traps against your enemies.

  • What are Monster Houses

Monster Houses in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX contain a large number of hostile enemy Pokemon. You can either attempt to take them all down to earn a decent amount of EXP or you can run from them.

  • How to Link Moves

If you go to Gulpin in the Pokemon Square you will be able to link your Pokemon's moves so they will be able to perform multiple moves in a single turn. Using a Linked move comes with additional costs to a Pokemon's PP and Hunger so they must be used wisely.

Check out our How to Level Up guide to find out everything you need to know about doing this at the Makuhita Dojo.

  • How to Mega Evolve

In order to Mega Evolve in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX the Pokemon must consume an Empowerment Seed. This will make the Pokemon become Awakened, in this state their Linked moves will always perform a critical hit and they will also bypass any type disadvantages.

Check out our How to Evolve Pokemon guide to find out how you access this ability.

  • What is Move Growth

A new feature in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX is Move Growth which is a system that allows attacking moves to grow in power the more you use them. To grow a move, you just need to use the move over and over again and fill up the tiny move experience bar that is next to the move's name.

The best way to grow moves is the Dojo Drills at the Makuhita Dojo as the training mazes boost your EXP rate. Another way to boost the power of your moves is to bring ethers with you and spam moves in mystery dungeons.

  • How to Leave a Dungeon

You can leave a dungeon in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX by making your way to the lowest floor, or in the cases of some dungeons, the highest floor. Once you reach the last staircase the game will give you the option of leaving the dungeon.

There are however some dungeons that first require you to defeat a boss before you can leave them. If you accepted a job from the Pelipper Post Office you will be able to leave the dungeon when it has been completed.

  • Continue Failed Dungeons

Unlike the previous Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games you can continue from where you fainted. However, all the money and items you were carrying will be lost.
