Ah yes... Nintendo has made yet another Pokemon game. This time, a sequel to the Ruby and Sapphire series. There's a lot more to do in Emerald, including filling up the National PokeDex, beating the Battle Frontier and acquiring all the Silver and Gold Symbols, beating the NEW 8th Gym Leader. There's a lot to do here, you definitely can have a good time with this game.
Not the best graphics. However, making love back from Crystal Version is the animation. Yep, when your Pokemon comes out of the Pokeball, it does the animation that we oh so loved and missed. The graphics are better than Ruby and Sapphire.
Another good things is also that the three new moves from Fire Red and Leaf Green can be seen, which look half decent.
Very nice sound. The Pokemon cries are very good and you can hear them in-depth through the PokeDex and see how long it is and how loud each pitch is. The music is also really really good. Rival Music and boss battles are very good, and also catchy, which is pretty weird... O_o.
This is probably the best part of the game. There's a new addition that was exclusive for Emerald. The Battle Frontier. After smacking your rival and the Gym leaders around, you get to smack the Elite Four around, yay. When you beat them you get invited to the most prized place in Hoenn... The Battle Frontier. This is where the "Toughest" trainers in Hoenn gather(although for me they aren't that tough.) There are 6 new facilities, but Nintendo decided to keep the Battle Tower, for a total of 7 Facilities. You need to beat a certain facility a certain amount of times and then you get to challenge the Frontier "Brain" and fight for a Silver Symbol. If you win, you get the Silver Symbol. Now you need even more wins in that facility, then you get to battle them again! This time for a Gold symbol. Meaning if you get all the symbols, you get 14 symbols, but you can only see 7 at a time. When you get all the Silver or Gold symbols, Scott, the Head of the Battle Frontier gives you a special Berry. You can't get these anywhere else so plant them quick!
The gameplay is a lot bigger than previous games, however, Pokemon Crystal Version has a lot more for you to do, but Emerald is still at the top of the list!
Now this is where people get mad, sadly. It's either, "The game is too short," or "The game is too long." This is annoying. With the Battle Frontier and 386 Pokemon to catch, that makes for a lastable game.
The game will keep you hooked for a few hours when you start it. If you have a lot of spare time, you should definitely pick up Emerald, this will swallow your good free time. The game is addicted, and you have a few things to do, you'll be playing for a long time before you can actually say "I'll be putting this down."
The game is simply amazing. The graphics are a step-up. The animations are good. The Gameplay is good. There's a big lastability, need there be more to say?
Pokemon Emerald easily scores an easy 10. However is declined at other sites. The game features a lot of things to do, the Battle Frontier, completing the Hoenn PokeDex, completing the National PokeDex, building a decent team to crush the Battle Frontier, and more.
