Introduction

When Emerald came out in America, I bought it online as I couldn't wait for in to come out in the UK. I loved it already, just from staring at it's shiny box cover. I played it endlessly, and couldn't put my GBA down. So, if you decide to read on, you'll find out my opinion of Pokemon Emerald. I hope you decide to buy it, it deserves to be bought! ;)

Graphics

The graphics for the main game are extremely good for a GBA, but the battle graphics aren't as good. Some of the attacks just don't look right. Such as Vine Whip. They could make it look a bit more like a vine than just a tiny hit on the Pokemon. The good thing about the battles is that they have brought the animations back to the games. Pokemon move when they are sent into battle, which was one of my favourite additions to Emerald.

The buildings and environment are in good detail, and the Gyms look good. The areas are also re-coloured and re-designed, such as Rustburo City.

Overall, the graphics get 8/10.

Sound

I thought the music for Emerald was amazing. If I had to make a list of my favourite tunes, the list would go on and on. There are barely any bad tunes, and the dramatic bits of the game have dramatic background music. The game music fits in extremely well, and I think it's as good as it gets. ;)

If they could have added voices then I would have enjoyed the game a bit more.

So, 9/10 people!

Gameplay

The game basicly, never ends. Once you complete a task, there's always another to do afterwards. The new features of Emerald include:
- The Battle Frontier
- Safari Zone extention
- More catchables
- More characters
- Wireless adapters
- More...
Some of the game may be easy, some of it hard, but the gameplay is so good on Emerald, 10/10. On to Lastability...

Lastability

As I said on Gameplay, the game never ends. There is so much to do and collect, so this game lasts for ever... Unless you break it that is...

You can re-match the Gym Leaders unlike in the other games, catch more Pokemon, get symbols from the Battle Frontier, complete your Hoenn-Dex and National-Dex, catch Kyogre Groudon and Rayquaza, train all your Pokemon up to the terrifying extremes...

Don't you agree? So much to do... So much to enjoy... 10/10

Overall

If I could give this game more marks, then I would. Pokemon Emerald is the best Pokemon game ever from my point of view. If you think that this game is the same as Ruby and Sapphire, then shut it, you don't know what you're talking about. This game is different to the others in so many ways, so don't hesitate. Buy Pokemon Emerald now!
