Hello there everyone. It's me, Lunadea! Yay.
Anyway, I recently got to enjoy the latest installment in the DMC4 series, and
liked it. However, due to my laziness I decided against a full walkthrough and
went with something different - a game script. So, enjoy all these witty
one-liners that I've grown to love.

4. C h a r a c t e r s /////////////////////////////////////////////// [CHRC]

NERO
------
The main character of the game. He's cocky, confident and basically a younger
version of Dante, except more dirty-mouthed. He's in love with Kyrie, who took
him in as an orphan when he was a child, and is willing to risk everything to
stay by her side. His right arm was infected by something unknown a few days
before the events of the game and now has Sparda's powers.

DANTE
-------
The other main character of the game - veteran DMC players should know him very
well from the previous titles. He is older here, and more mature than he was
in the earlier games. In the beginning he appears to be the villain, but it is
soon revealed that he is on the same side as Nero.
-------
KYRIE
-------
Nero's foster sister and love interest who returns his feelings. She is
Credo's younger sister, and a singer at the church he works for. During the
events of the game, she unwittingly becomes involved and is kidnapped as a lure
for Nero.
CREDO
-------
The captain of the Holy Knights, and Kyrie's elder brother. He initially worked
with Sanctus in order to achieve his vision of a perfect world, and gained a
demon form. Later on, when Kyrie is kidnapped, he changes sides in order to
save her and Nero. He has a demonic form that resembles an armored angel.

AGNUS
-------
Another subordinate of Sanctus's. He is a scientist who opened the Hellgates
in order to bring in demons and use their souls in his experiments. He was the
one who first found Yamato, Vergil's katana, but could not succeed in releasing
its powers until Nero came along. He also has a demon form, which resembles a
large flying bug.

SANCTUS
---------
The leader of the Holy Order, and a seemingly frail old man. Although he was
apparently killed by Dante, he was seen shortly after being reborn through
demonic powers. His goal is to cleanse the world of chaos; however, he is
blinded by power and ends up activating a huge humanoid colossus called the
Savior. He later attempted to gain Sparda's power for himself with the Force
Edge whilst inside the Savior.

GLORIA/TRISH
--------------
Trish is also a character from previous DMC games. She disguises herself as
Gloria in order to infiltrate the Order and gain Sanctus's trust. Eventually
she reveals herself as Trish and works together with Dante to rescue Nero and
Kyrie, and to bring down Sanctus. She was the one who gave the Force Edge to
Sanctus in order to gain his trust when she entered the Organization.

LADY
------
Another seen-before character. She is no longer the rash, hotheaded teenager
from DMC3, but has taken a more cleavage-exposing and feminine approach to
her outfit and her life. She is the one who asked Dante to help her out with
the situation in the town of Fortuna, and it appears that she continues to
work with him from time to time.

<The scene starts with a shot of a back alley, and the Capcom logo. The camera
then moves to the right to show a city, and NERO is seen running down the
street towards the church in the middle. The scene then switches to inside the
church, where KYRIE is standing on a lit platform and starts singing. Outside,
NERO kills the demons in his path and hurries on to his destination. After
KYRIE finishes her song, she looks to the crowd and is happy to see NERO
grinning back at her.>

[[[ MISSION ONE :: BIRDS OF A FEATHER ]]]------------------------------------01
-----------------------------------------
SANCTUS: 2,000 years ago... the Dark Knight Sparda, turned against his demon
bretheren and took up his sword for the sake of mankind. Though
despite his brave efforts in our names, I fear some have forgotten the
truth of that great sacrifice. If the events of that terrible time
were to reoccur, the fusing of both the demonic and human realms, we,
weak humans, would have no means by which to oppose our submission.
<NERO fidgets in boredom and listens to music, until KYRIE approaches him and
spots the gift he bought for her beside him. She smiles and sits down beside
him.>
SANCTUS: And so I ask you to unite! And pray that even if such a dark time of
chaos were to revisit us, our gracious Savior would shelter us from
the storm. Let us pray!
<Everyone in the church clasps their hands, but NERO stands up with a sigh.>
KYRIE: Nero... What's wrong?
NERO: I'm outta here.
KYRIE: But it's not over yet.
NERO: All this preaching's putting me to sleep.
<KYRIE starts to follow him, but then he stops as he realizes his arm is
glowing. He looks up in alarm, and at that moment DANTE bursts through the
stained glass roof to land in front of SANCTUS, and then shoots the old man in
the head. As DANTE turns around with his blood-splattered face, everyone starts
to panic. The guards draw their swords and rush towards him.>
???: Your Holiness!
<DANTE easily kills the guards and as NERO and KYRIE run away, she drops the
gift, which is then stepped on. The head of the guard crouches over the dead
SANCTUS in horror.>
???: No!
<DANTE kills the rest of the guards and walks towards the head guard. KYRIE
sees this and screams.>
KYRIE: Credo!
NERO: Kyrie!
<As KYRIE rushes towards CREDO, she is knocked over by a body flying into her,
and she stares up at DANTE in fear. Angered, NERO runs up to DANTE and kicks
him in the face. After exchanging a few bullets and sword swings, they end up
on the statue of Sparda, facing each other with a gun in hand.>
KYRIE: Nero!
NERO: Kyrie! Go with your brother and get outta here!
CREDO: I will return with help! You stall him until then!
NERO: I won't hold my breath.
<He and DANTE then proceed to start fighting.>
NERO: You got a jacked-up notion of fair play pal, and it's beginning to piss
me off.
<He reloads and points his gun at DANTE again, only to hear him walk by behind
him.>
NERO: I guess this doesn't quite cut it.
<He grabs his sword.>
NERO: What's the point of packin' a sword like that if you aren't even gonna
use it?
<DANTE looks at his own sword and mimics NERO's pose, which infuriates the
younger man, who charges at him. They exchange blows, but NERO is soon
overpowered and blocks a stab with his Devil Bringer arm.>
DANTE: You got a trick up your sleeve.
NERO: I thought the cat had your tongue. If it's a trick you're looking for...
then try this!
DANTE: Looks like you too are a--
<NERO throws the statue's sword at DANTE, missing by inches, and his Devil
Bringer arm is revealed.>
NERO: Hate to interrupt, but I wanna wrap this show up before the cavalry
arrives!
DANTE: So, you're looking to play, huh? Alright, I guess I got some time to
kill...
NERO: Tough guy, huh? Well... I think I'll have to take you down a couple
notches.
DANTE: Whatever you say, kid.
<NERO grabs DANTE's sword and pins him down, then punches him before throwing
him into the statue and impaling him through the chest with Rebellion. NERO
then starts to walk away.>
DANTE: Getting better...
<NERO looks back in shock.>
DANTE: I would even go as far as to say that I underestimated your...
abilities.
NERO: You aren't human, are you?
<DANTE pulls himself free of the sword.>
DANTE: We're the same... you and... I... and them...
<He gestures to the dead guards on the ground, revealed to be demons.>
DANTE: Though I suspect you carry something different from the others.
NERO: What are you talking about?
DANTE: You will come to learn the meaning soon enough. But... business beckons.
NERO: Hey!
DANTE: Adios, kid.
<At that moment, the guards start rushing in.>

[[[ MISSION TWO :: LA PORTE DE L'ENFER ]]]-----------------------------------02

<The guards examine the mess left behind, and KYRIE drags in a huge black case.
NERO sees her and stops her.>
NERO: You brought this here for me?
KYRIE: Credo requested. She yearns for your touch.
NERO: Thanks. This blade's the best battle companion a swordsman could wish
for.
<While he assembles the sword, KYRIE walks to the trodden-on gift box and picks
up the necklace inside with a delighted smile.>
NERO: Fortuna Castle, huh?
CREDO: That's what the witnesses said.
NERO: Guy just came from Hell, he's gotta hit up a couple tourist sites.
CREDO: You jest so lightly in a time of crisis? You must capture him.
NERO: Trust me, I'll get it done.
KYRIE: Please be careful. You still haven't recovered.
NERO: There's no time and duty calls.
<He notices her wearing the necklace he gave her and grins.>
NERO: Can't pass on an emergency.
CREDO: I must return to headquarters and report.
<Suddenly, the church starts to shake, and they head outside.>
CITIZEN: Someone help me!
<He limps into sight from behind the fountain, but is soon impaled by a
Scarecrow's blade and dragged back before being flung over the fountain. More
terrified citizens start running around and are soon cut up by more
Scarecrows.>
NERO: Is this him?
CREDO: I... I'm not sure.
NERO: Credo, take care of Kyrie. I got this!
CREDO: We must evacuate the residents back to Headquarters. Report back as soon
as you can, and be careful.
NERO: I got it already!
CREDO: Kyrie, run! Go with the others!
<KYRIE starts to leave, but sees a crying boy about to be attacked by demons.
She shields him from the Scarecrows and is about to be sliced when NERO jumps
in and saves her.>
NERO: Go! Get outta here!
KYRIE: Nero!
<She leaves, and NERO turns back to the demons.>
NERO: Not so fast...
<He fights the Scarecrows with the Red Queen and his Devil Bringer, and easily
kills them all.>
NERO: This baby sure can pack a punch.
<He makes his way through the area and finds an item.>
NERO: What is this?
<Later on he finds a machine that must be used in order to proceed, but it
doesn't respond to his pressing.>
NERO: Dammit!
<He shoots it twice and the light turns from red to green. Soon afterwards he
walks into an abandoned village and sees a Hellgate.>
NERO: Let me guess, more demons?
<At that moment, the door shakes and a fiery creature explodes out of it,
igniting the buildings.>
???: Ahhh, the human world. It's been a while...
<NERO walks past him and with a swish of his blade, douses all the fires.>
???: How curious...
NERO: Fire's bad for the complexion. I burn easily, never tan.
???: When I came to this world 2,000 years ago, there was no such human as the
likes of you.
NERO: Wanna make it another 2,000?
???: Silence!
<He stabs towards NERO with his blade, but NERO counters it by stabbing it in
return at the tip.>
???: Futile pest, you will suffer the wrath of Berial! I, the conqueror of the
Fire Hell!
<NERO defeats him.>
BERIAL: Your arm... You are not human!
NERO: Don't ask. Damn thing drives me crazy though.
BERIAL: You are just like he was...
NERO: And 'he' would be...?
BERIAL: I must restore my powers...
NERO: Hey!
<Berial envelops himself in fire and rushes back into the door to Hell.>

[[[ MISSION THREE :: THE WHITE WING ]]]--------------------------------------03
---------------------------------------
<After making his way into a snowy mountain area, NERO approaches the large
building across the bridge and sees a Scarecrow falling from the roof. He is
about to shoot, but then realizes that a woman is on the demon. She then
proceeds to kill all the Scarcrows that appear, and NERO finishes it off by
shooting the one about to ambush her from behind.>
???: I owe you thanks.
NERO: You're from the Order...? Never seen you before.
???: I'm new. Gloria.
<She holds out her hand, but NERO only looks away.>
GLORIA: You're Nero, right? I've heard rumors.
NERO: Hasn't everyone?
GLORIA: Quite a few in fact, and none too flattering.
NERO: So what's the deal? Where're they coming from?
GLORIA: It's strange... No matter the number you kill, more will come.
<She slides her knives under her thigh as NERO watches.>
NERO: Then I'll leave that chore to you. I've got some personal slaying to take
care of.
GLORIA: I'll join with the others, we'll take care of them.
<She heel-drops a demon that was still alive.>
GLORIA: May the Savior be with you on your journey.
NERO: Savior...
<NERO continues through Fortuna Castle and finds a room with many books on the
table.>
NERO: Didn't figure this guy for a bookworm...
<He hears a noise, and turns around sharply with gun in hand to see a suit of
armor.>
NERO: That's one way to get yourself shot. So you after this guy too, or just
here to catch some demons?
<The suit of armor walks towards him wordlessly.>
NERO: Silent type, huh? Well that's... annoying.
<The suit strikes out with his lance, and NERO turns around to catch it between
a book.>
NERO: So much for friendly banter! If you want a fight, then come on!
<He kills it and its empty helmet rolls to NERO's feet. He picks it up.>
NERO: Empty... A demon; it possessed the Order's armor... That's not a good
sign.
<The door behind him opens, and he walks through.>

[[[ MISSION FOUR :: COLD BLOODED ]]]-----------------------------------------04

<NERO walks into a large snowing courtyard, and sees two blue fairies beckoning
to him in front of a door to Hell.>
NERO: This blizzard must be these demons.
<He fights them for a while, and they are revealed to be the anglers of a large
toad, Bael.>
NERO: So this is what you really look like...
BAEL: You're stronger than you look, with a smart-ass mouth to match.
NERO: Cut me some slack. I'm just not big on toads.
BAEL: Fooool! You think I care what you say?!
NERO: If we don't finish this quickly, it's gonna scar me for life.
BAEL: I will crush you!
<NERO defeats it.>
BAEL: You think... you've... beaten me?! Never! You piece... of...
NERO: That's exactly what I think.
BAEL: My brothers... will come! They--
<NERO gives it a final punch between the eyes.>
NERO: C'mon, that's just nasty. Wait... did he say 'brothers'?
<He looks through the Hell door and sees several toads marching towards him.>
NERO: Oh that's fair! Now I've got to fight a whole herd of these things?
<He punches the closest one, who knocks the rest back. He then quickly closes
the door.>
NERO: Sorry pal, we're closed!

[[[ MISSION FIVE :: TRISAGION ]]]--------------------------------------------05
---------------------------------
<The scene shows CREDO leaning over SANCTUS's body on a bed. SANCTUS's eyes
open and glow red as he spasms for a moment, then settles down again. When he
opens his eyes a second time, they are normal.>
CREDO: You have awakened.
SANCTUS: Credo.
CREDO: My men are currently in pursuit of Dante. It is only a matter of time
before his location is revealed.
SANCTUS: He came to us... It was fortunate I was able to participate in the
'ascension ceremony'.
???: His Holiness...! You look magnificent!
<He tries to approach SANCTUS, but CREDO continually blocks his way.>
???: You sent that cocky kid Nero to find Dante?
CREDO: You question my command?
???: Yes! What shall before me s-s-s-s-should he stumble upon my research
facility?
CREDO: Our priority is to capture Dante.
???: Why you t-t-t...
SANCTUS: Credo.
CREDO: Yes, Your Holiness.
SANCTUS: Gather everyone. I must ease their minds on this matter.
CREDO: Of course.

[[[ MISSION SIX :: RESURRECTION ]]]------------------------------------------06

<Later, NERO stumbles upon the underground research facility where his arm
starts glowing. He looks up and spots the broken Yamato inside the lab.
However, the scientist is inside.>
???: So, you've come just as I'd expected.
NERO: Who the hell are you?
???: I am Agnus. Working in secrecy, very few are p-p-p-privy to my existence.
NERO: Funny, to figure an Order official out for a stroll in a hellhole kinda
place like this...
AGNUS: 'Hellhole'!? Watch your words! Just as fouled mouthed as I had heard...
the rumors prove true. As will the new ones concerning your
d-d-d-demise!
NERO: Don't you think that's a little harsh? Killing me because of the way I
t-t-t-t-talk?
<AGNUS motions with his hand and sword demons start flying out of the walls.>
NERO: Great. More demons.
AGNUS: This, this is all Credo's doing.
<NERO starts fighting the demons as AGNUS talks.>
AGNUS: It was Credo who ordered you to follow Dante... It was Credo who brought
you here!
NERO: Dante...? You mean the man that killed His Holiness? What the hell is
going on here!?
AGNUS: I don't have to answer to you. For you are already as good as
d-d-d-d-dead.
NERO: I beg to differ.
<He fights AGNUS and his demons, and then jumps through the glass.>
AGNUS: Tha-tha-tha-that's demonic power! How can it be...?
NERO: Look who's talking, jackass. Answer my question, what the hell is going
on here?
<He puts his sword to AGNUS's throat, but the scientist seems interested in his
arm.>
AGNUS: How profound... It's magnificent!
<He rushes towards NERO's arm, and NERO backs away in disgust.>
NERO: OK, did you even hear me?
AGNUS: If you want answers, then I shall give them to you.
<AGNUS continues to scurry forward, and NERO continues to back away.>
AGNUS: It has only been a few years since I began this research... Could we
isolate and bind demonic power, it could enable us to conquer the world!
And that, that is the wish of His Holiness!
NERO: What a crock... And you may as well ditch the efforts pal, because His
Holiness is dead.
AGNUS: Ahhh, but His Holiness has been reborn. As an angel!
NERO: An angel...?
AGNUS: And soon, soon, so shall I.
<NERO glances into AGNUS's eyes and realizes too late as a Bianco Angelo
impales him onto the wall and stabs him repeatedly.>
AGNUS: See what just a small fraction of my research has yielded? Look! How
beautiful this white armor stands! You have no idea the hardship to make
just one armor come to life. I had to capture and control countless
demons to harness their souls. Summoning them alone was almost an
insurmountable task!
NERO: Summoning...? So it was you... who made the gate!?
AGNUS: Yes, yes, the Hellgate! I created it merely as a reference in
substitution for the real Gate, but after utilizing an extremely
powerful Devil's Arm, it proved sufficient...
NERO: What the hell are you talking about?
AGNUS: You should rest.
<A demon sword comes to his hand and he stabs NERO once more.>
AGNUS: Soon you shall be my next subject of experimentation, so that I can
learn a little something from you... and that arm.
NERO: Never...!
<He spits blood in AGNUS's face. Angered, AGNUS pushes the sword in and then
pulls it out.>
AGNUS: T-t-t-take him out!
<The armor demons fly towards him, and NERO closes his eyes and remembers
something.>
NERO: Kyrie, run!
<She screams.>
KYRIE: Nero!
NERO: Kyrie! Kyrie!!
<Back in reality, NERO opens his eyes, which are red, and he glows with a blue
light. The pieces of Yamato start to reattach themselves as NERO's arm reacts,
and the sword flies into his hand just as the Biancos are about to close in.
With one strike, a bright light envelops and destroys the armors and knocks
AGNUS flying. The scientist hits the wall and when he lands, he has turned into
a large bug-like demon. He watches as NERO walks towards him slowly in Devil
Trigger mode, grasping Yamato in his Devil Bringer hand.>
AGNUS: How... Not even I could succeed in restoring it...!
NERO: From that day forth... my arm changed... and a voice echoed... "Power..."
"Give me more power!"
AGNUS: What...?
NERO: And if I become a demon, so be it. I will endure the exile. Anything to
protect her.
<He slashes the sword and a ball of energy shoots from it, destroying a part of
the lab overhead.>
AGNUS: This is preposterous! Preposterous!
<He flies away through the hole in the ceiling. Meanwhile, Yamato disappears
from NERO's hands and he snaps out of DT mode and collapses. He clutches his
chest and is shocked to find his wounds gone. He glances at his arm and laughs
disbelievingly.>
NERO: I should get back to Headquarters. If what Agnus said is true... Credo
must've known something.
<NERO backtracks and ends up in a large forest.>
NERO: A forest...?
<He hears someone behind him, and looks around to spot DANTE looking over the
cliff at the forest below.>
DANTE: What the hell is this?
<NERO points his gun at him.>
DANTE: Must be the effect of the gate... Sorry kid, this is gonna have to wait.
<He jumps back off the cliff, and NERO rushes to the edge to see him falling
down with his arms outstretched.>
NERO: How much could he really know?

[[[ MISSION SEVEN :: THE SHE-VIPER ]]]---------------------------------------07

<Inside the Headquarters...>
CREDO: ... and that's the situation so far.
<He sits back down beside SANCTUS and the door bursts open.>
AGNUS: Credo! You knew it all along!
CREDO: How dare you raise your voice in the presence of His Holiness!
AGNUS: That arrogant kid possesses d-d-d-d-demonic power!
CREDO: Absurd.
AGNUS: Absurd!? Don't play me a fool. Is he not your subordinate? He
resurrected Yamato! It's your fault! It's your responsibility!
It-t-t-t-t...
SANCTUS: Credo.
CREDO: Yes, Your Holiness.
SANCTUS: Can you apprehend this boy?
CREDO: If that is your wish... Though who will then track Dante?
GLORIA: I will find Dante.
SANCTUS: You can guarantee his capture then?
GLORIA: Absolutely.
<She stands up and starts to walk away, then turns and bows.>
GLORIA: It's good to see Your Holiness has recovered.
<She leaves the room.>
CREDO: Is she reliable?
SANCTUS: She once brought to us the sword 'Sparda' and hastened the completion
of our Savior.
CREDO: But she remains almost a stranger to us all...
<The camera shows GLORIA listening in on the conversation from behind a
pillar.>
SANCTUS: Which will only concern us should a situation arise. As for her
identity, I have already investigated... Now Credo, find us Nero and
Yamato and bring them back to me.
CREDO: As you wish, Your Holiness.
AGNUS: That menace Nero appears to be quite close to Credo's sister, Kyrie.
More than once he called out her name...
<SANCTUS appears to be interested by this piece of information. Back in the
forest, NERO finds another Hellgate. A large flowery worm appears behind him
and he clings onto it as it flies up and then around the forest. He tries to
punch its head, but it throws a seed at him and knocks him off.>
ECHIDNA: Try some seeds on for size!
<NERO shoots the seeds open, and the worm screeches.>
ECHIDNA: My children! You bastard!
<The flower at its head opens to reveal a demon woman inside. She charges at
him but NERO jumps back and lands on a tree.>
NERO: Sorry, but having you around is more than enough.
ECHIDNA: Your insignificant insults have no effect on me. Though I will tear
your body to shreds!
<NERO fights and defeats her. She tries to fly back into the Hellgate, but NERO
grabs her by the tail.>
NERO: Don't even think about it.
ECHIDNA: How shameful to be beaten by a human...!
<She struggles against his Devil Bringer and manages to twist out of his grip.
She flies into the Hellgate, which closes, but leaves a fruit behind.>
NERO: Hey, don't step up if you're not going to put up a decent fight.
<He picks up the fruit.>
NERO: Didn't your mom ever tell you not to litter?
<The fruit gets absorbed into his hand, and he sighs and leaves.>

[[[ MISSION EIGHT :: PROFESSION OF FAITH ]]]---------------------------------08

<NERO is seen walking towards a the headquarter building. As he approaches the
entrance, he is surprised to see CREDO walking out.>
NERO: That's a look you shoot your enemy.
<CREDO continues to walk closer.>
NERO: OK, well then let me ask you this... What exactly is the Order after? And
who the hell is Dante?
CREDO: You do not demand answers from me!
<He slashes towards NERO, but the latter blocks with his arm.>
CREDO: You possess the power of a demon...
NERO: Back down! I don't want to hurt you. I won't do that to Kyrie!
CREDO: "Hurt me"? You don't get it, do you?
<CREDO lifts his arms and a golden white aura surrounds him.>
NERO: You too...

CREDO: I have been chosen to take the next step in evolution, to become
something far more than just human. I am an angel!
NERO: Wrong, Credo. All that you've become is a demon.
CREDO: As the Captain of the Holy Knights, you are now under arrest. It is the
wish of His Holiness!
<NERO battles CREDO, and just as CREDO staggers back and charges forward at him
one last time, NERO holds onto his wing shield and throws him aside. He glances
at his own arm and then at CREDO, who has turned back to human form.>
CREDO: No... Not yet! I'm not finished!
<He tries to attack NERO again, but the younger man easily fends him off.>
CREDO: Your strength has increased!
<Suddenly NERO hears KYRIE's cry from behind him. He turns around in shock.>
NERO: Kyrie...
<She looks towards his hand, which he quickly hides. She then looks towards
CREDO lying on the ground, and backs away.>
NERO: No wait... This isn't what you think...
KYRIE: Why...? Why did you do this...?
<NERO continues to walk towards her, but suddenly AGNUS appears out of nowhere
and stands beside KYRIE with a smirk.>
AGNUS: It was our intentions to protect you from the truth. Nero is a demon.
NERO: You son of a-
KYRIE: Nero.
AGNUS: Not to worry. I have no intentions of harming her... yet. Though it
would appear your attachment extends beyond friendship...
<He holds the blade in his hand to her neck.>
NERO: She has nothing to do with this... Let her go!
CREDO: Agnus! How dare you use my sister! This is my fight and I will finish
it! Let her go!
AGNUS: His Holiness predicted your defeat and so ordered that your sister be
utilized.
CREDO: What...?
<A bright white light surrounds AGNUS and forces the two men back. When they
look again, he has transformed into bug form, and has flown into the air with
KYRIE in hand.>
AGNUS: If you want her, then come and get her, for I cannot guarantee her fate.
<He cackles and flies off.>
CREDO: His Holiness... He used Kyrie...?
NERO: Where's he taking her? Back to headquarters?
<He pulls CREDO up roughly.>
CREDO: I would assume so. Nero, we must set aside this battle until I find out
the truth of this.
<He transforms into demon form again and flies off as well.>

<NERO rushes to the headquarter building and sees KYRIE preserved in a large
glass cage, floating in a red light. As he gets closer, AGNUS flies in.>
AGNUS: So, you've come.
NERO: What have you done to Kyrie?
AGNUS: Why don't you check and find out. But don't expect me to be as easy on
you as I was last time.
NERO: If I have to kill you to save Kyrie, then let's roll.
<They battle, and AGNUS ends up defeated.>
AGNUS: Damn you! DAMN YOU! I will kill you! I will kill you!
NERO: Is that all you got? I think it's time to put you out of your misery.
<AGNUS is about to attack him again, but suddenly several Biancos distract NERO
as they rush at him. AGNUS looks ahead and sees SANCTUS in demon form floating
in front of him, and bows.>
AGNUS: Your Holiness!
SANCTUS: That's enough, Agnus. Go and prepare for activation.
AGNUS: Right away.
<AGNUS flies off, and SANCTUS glances at the preoccupied NERO and then at
KYRIE. He heads towards the girl, and NERO sees him. NERO quickly gets rid of
the demons around him, reaching out with his Devil Bringer to try and grab
KYRIE as SANCTUS carries her away.>
NERO: Let her go! Kyrie!
KYRIE: Nero...
<He jumps up but only succeeds in ripping off her necklace. At that moment, a
demon pins him to the ground.>
SANCTUS: You have indeed inherited Sparda's power.
<He flies away, and more demons proceed to stab NERO. NERO's eyes glow red and
he flings all of them away in one explosion, then stares at the sky and the
necklace in his hand before punches the ground, screaming in frustration.>

<NERO walks into the room in headquarters where SANCTUS lay after his death,
and sees DANTE.>
DANTE: What took you so long?
NERO: You... What are you doing here? Forget it, I don't have time for this.
DANTE: And neither do I.
<He puts a hand on NERO's shoulder to stop him walking away, but NERO turns and
takes a jab at him, which DANTE easily dodges. He grabs the younger man's arm.>
DANTE: So I'll cut to the chase.
<He throws NERO by the arm into the wall.>
DANTE: I'm here for the sword.
NERO: Your point being?
<He emerges from the dust, glowing blue, and enters Devil Trigger mode. DANTE
looks on with interest.>
DANTE: It was originally my brother's... Return it to me and I'll let you go,
kid.
NERO: Kid? Well... If that's how you see me I think you'll blush a pretty pink
when I kick your ass.
<NERO slashes his sword at DANTE, who jumps, and the slash breaks a large
pillar. DANTE lands stylishly on another pillar and looks down.>
DANTE: Ah, helpful hint, take a tip from your elders...
<He jumps down and faces NERO, and they proceed to fight. As NERO knocks
DANTE's sword out of his hand and then lunges forward to impale him in the
throat, DANTE deftly maneuvers aside and NERO falls and lands on his face. He
tries to turn and attack again, but DANTE puts his sword to NERO's neck.>
DANTE: You cooled off yet, kid? What's the matter? Why the glare?
NERO: You look as if you've just been playing me from the beginning.
<The camera moves to show DANTE stepping on NERO's Devil Bringer arm, and he
then moves away.>
DANTE: That sword... was used to separate our world from the demons. I can't
have something of that kinda power floating around now can I? It's got
to stay in the family.
NERO: I need this...
DANTE: Then keep it.
<NERO looks at him disbelievingly.>
DANTE: Now that you're calm and cool... Get going.
<NERO grips the sword with a slight smile and walks past DANTE.>
DANTE: Hey! What's your name?
NERO: Nero. You're Dante, right? Not a bad name...
DANTE: Neither is yours.
<As DANTE watches NERO walk away, GLORIA's sashays into his view. DANTE bursts
out laughing when he sees who it is.>
DANTE: That regal look suits you.
GLORIA: I dress to impress.
<She pulls out a cloak from nowhere and immediately changes outfits, revealing
herself to be TRISH.>
TRISH: Are you sure you want to let him go?
DANTE: Yeah, I figure he can bear the burden.
TRISH: I know it's not my business, but this could get ugly.
DANTE: Well, if the kid screws up, then I'll just have to kick his ass.

<NERO finds his way up a tower and sees a huge humanoid creature ahead.>
NERO: What the...
<He points his gun at SANCTUS, who is on its head.>
SANCTUS: Is it not beautiful?
NERO: I think we've got a difference of opinion on that one.
SANCTUS: How unfortunate.
<He lifts his arms and the gem on the creature's head glows. Kyrie is then seen
emerging from the gem, unconscious.>
NERO: Kyrie!
<She lifts her head and looks at him.>
SANCTUS: Is it not your wish to become one with her? Within the Savior your
mortal bodies with combine, melting into one to manifest and create
his core! A thing of utter and pure beauty.
NERO: Go blow yourself.
<SANCTUS fumes and KYRIE smiles down at NERO, who lowers his gun.>
NERO: I'm here to save you... Please trust me.
<As he finishes speaking, she is pulled back into the gem.>
SANCTUS: I'm afraid you are too late. But although still incomplete, this is
your chance to catch a glimpse of the true power of our Savior!
<NERO fights SANCTUS and the Savior, and eventually beat them back. As he flies
into the air to take the final blow, KYRIE is pushed out of the gem again, and
NERO falters. The Savior takes this chance to grab him in one stony fist.>
SANCTUS: Held back by love. Such a shame. Still, I must salute a man who
carries the blood of Sparda. While not in Dante's league, you still
presented a harder fight than I had anticipated.
NERO: Dante...?
SANCTUS: I had originally intended to absorb him into our Savior, but
circumstances presenting, I'd rather choose the option at hand.
<The hand brings NERO towards SANCTUS, who summons the Yamato towards himself.>
SANCTUS: When your blood and this sword are combined, we will be able to
proceed to the final stage of our ultimate goal.
<Suddenly, CREDO leaps in front of SANCTUS and knocks him aside.>
CREDO: Nero! Run!
<As NERO tries to get out of the Savior's fist, CREDO is stabbed by SANCTUS.>
NERO: Credo!
SANCTUS: You have betrayed us. Why?
CREDO: I served the dream of a world you spoke of, the Savior you preached
of... But you used my sister, Kyrie, who has nothing to do with this,
and that is beyond forgiveness.
SANCTUS: Love...? For a sibling? How foolish.
<He pulls the katana out of CREDO, who then falls off the Savior towards the
ground far below.>
SANCTUS: All that is needed is absolute power!
<Just before CREDO hits the ground, he is caught by DANTE, with TRISH standing
nearby.>
SANCTUS: Oh, it's you... Gloria. Unfortunately you did not anticipate a
descendant of Sparda's blood, and because of this boy, you have been
outwitted! And the Savior will be completed!
DANTE: I don't know, I'd wager that kid's still got some life in him.
<While SANCTUS is distracted, NERO reaches out with his Devil Bringer and slams
him into a wall. However, the priest disappears and a second later NERO's arm
is stabbed by Yamato.>
SANCTUS: You fool! Escape is now impossible! The creation cannot be stopped!
<He cackles, and NERO's arm begins to fade.>
DANTE: Hey, kid! You giving up so soon?
NERO: My options... are limited...
DANTE: So melodramatic. Besides, if you die without giving my sword back, I'm
gonna be pissed!
<NERO is sucked into the fist.>
NERO: Then come and get it.
DANTE: What a punk...

[[[ MISSION TWELVE :: A NEW BEGINNING ]]]------------------------------------12

<Inside the Savior, NERO sees KYRIE floating in front of him.>
NERO: Kyrie. I failed to save you.
<She smiles and extends her hand, and NERO tries to grab it. However, when he
touches her, she starts dissolving into golden dust.>
NERO: Kyrie...
KYRIE: Nero... Thank you.
NERO: Kyrie! Kyrie! I swear it! I swear I'm going to get us out of here!
Together! Kyrie! KYRIE!
<NERO is then seen trying unsuccessfully to claw his way out of the insides of
the Savior. The Savior rises up and golden wings form from its back, causing
DANTE to laugh.>
DANTE: Check it out! It's got wings!
TRISH: The design shows terrible taste.
<CREDO starts spluttering from behind them, and the two turn around to see him
attempting to stand up.>
DANTE: Hey, where's that thing going? It's not complete yet is it?
CREDO: It is in his heart to save the world from chaos... He will begin by
driving it out.
TRISH: Now he has what he needs... Yamato.
CREDO: Sparda used it to seal the Hell Gate from the demon world, the sword is
the key to opening the Hell Gate. The real Hell Gate... that lies
dormant beneath this city...
DANTE: The sword that separates the human world from the demon world...
CREDO: I think you, the son of the Dark Knight Sparda, are the only one who can
stop the Savior now. Dante...
TRISH: Looks like you've got a rep to live up to.
DANTE: Looks that way.
CREDO: Please... honor my one last request... Save them... Kyrie... and...
Nero...
<DANTE catches CREDO as he falls forward and glows a golden light as he
disappears.>
DANTE: I'll do it. I wouldn't want to deny anyone their dying request.
TRISH: I'll sweep the city and evacuate the people.
DANTE: Hey! Is this your way of ditching and dumping this mess on-
TRIST: You wanna switch?
DANTE: It's cool. Let's stick to the plan.

<Meanwhile, inside a ceremonial chamber, AGNUS walks towards a round platform
with Yamato in hand.>
AGNUS: Lend me your ears and fangs.
<A pulsing red circle with a blood red gem in the centre is seen.>
AGNUS: Destroy this world so that the true utopia can be born!!!
<He plunges the katana into the gem, and a brilliant white light fans out
around the platform, and fades to reveal intricate red patterns on the ground.>
AGNUS: Judgment day has arrived!
<In the city, the people look on in horror as the Hellgate bursts open, spewing
out countless demons. A group of people huddle together in a small alley and
just as several Mephistos are about to attack them, a Bianco arrives and kills
the demons. The Savior is then seen approaching the city while Biancos continue
to fly around killing the demons.>
SANCTUS: Do not fear! Our Savior has come for us, to deliver us salvation! We
must repent and rejoice for the world has not yet come to an end!
<The people in the city watch as the Savior lets loose a lightning bolt that
incinerates all the demons around, and SANCTUS laughs out loud. From another
island behind the city, DANTE watches and applauds.>
DANTE: That's a solid performance for an old fart like you.
<DANTE makes his way through the Headquarters, killing enemies as he goes. The
game then shows a flashback, of DANTE, TRISH and LADY inside the Devil May Cry
office, with the former two eating pizza.>
DANTE: The Order of the Sword, huh?
LADY: Yes. Are you familiar with them?
DANTE: Sorry, religion and I don't mix.
LADY: It's a small congregation that gathers in the castle town of Fortuna. I
guess the only people who would have heard of it are the ones who take
interest in this type of thing.
DANTE: Like you?
LADY: Exactly. So just how much do you know about Sparda?
DANTE: Well, from what I can figure there's a lot of confusion surrounding him.
LADY: The story goes that Sparda served as the feudal lord of the city long
ago. The people who live there today take these legends as truth and
worship him... Just like a god.
DANTE: They worship a demon as a god?
LADY: Peaceful worship can't be condemned, but the real problem is the Order.
Lately they've been running amok, catching demons and have even butted in
on some of my jobs.
DANTE: Maybe they're starting a zoo.
LADY: Not just demons. They've also been targeting Devil Arms, like the ones
you have.
DANTE: OK then, a museum. So what?
LADY: Well what if their intentions are foul and there's a diabolical plan
behind these apparently random acts?
DANTE: Well then I'd have something to keep me occupied and- Trish!
<He looks around for her, but she has disappeared. On the wall he and LADY spot
her message: "See you there." Back in the present time, DANTE is walking
through a forest as he reminisces.>
DANTE: Things always gotta be complicated...
<He eventually reaches the green Hellgate that NERO encountered before, and
turns around to spot ECHIDNA circling the air behind him, laying her eggs. He
runs up to them and kicks them all back to hit her in the face.>
ECHIDNA: What in the- Ow! Who the hell are you?
DANTE: Glad I got your attention. I was beginning to feel a little ignored.
ECHIDNA: You may jest, but the kindest fate I offer is to unify and spend
eternity with a child of mine!
<She hides back into the flower and takes a bite at DANTE, so that only his leg
is seen dangling out of her mouth. A few seconds later he forces her teeth
apart.>
DANTE: As appealing as that sounds, I think I'll pass. Though a fight every now
and again does make life more interesting. Don't ya think?
<They fight, and he defeats her.>
ECHIDNA: My forest...! My children...!
<DANTE shoots her once more and she explodes against the Hellgate.>
DANTE: I think that look suits you better.
<He walks towards the glowing green object by the gate, and takes it.>
DANTE: One down...
<After absorbing the green orb, he finds himself with a set of new weapons
called Gilgamesh. He tests it out by smashing up the Hellgate.>
DANTE: ... two to go.

<DANTE makes his way through the area until he gets to an icy courtyard where
he hears female voices. He looks around and spots two red sprites in the air,
and he wolf whistles. He then proceeds to skid over to them and check them
out.>
DANTE: Baby! Yeah! Alright! Nice! Sweet!
<He lies down on the ground to enjoy the view, and a large toad comes up behind
him and bites. However, DANTE has already jumped away.>
DAGON: What...? How did you know!?
DANTE: You can hide that body, but that smell... Hoo! There's no covering up!
DAGON: Insult me one more time and I will make you suffer more than you thought
possible.
DANTE: I'd actually like to see you try that!
<They battle, and DANTE defeats it.>
DAGON: Don't think this is the end... there are more of us.
<DANTE jumps up and slices down on its head, and it turns to ice and shatters.
He takes the glowing orb by the Hellgate and it turns into a briefcase called
Pandora.>
DANTE: He wasn't kidding... It's like an All-You-Can-Eat buffet.
<Many more toads emerge from the fog in front of him, and DANTE utilizes
Pandora to easily kill all of them. After he's done, the ice underneath him
suddenly disappears and he falls into a mechanical room.>

[[[ MISSION SIXTEEN :: INFERNO ]]]-------------------------------------------16

<Inside the room...>
DANTE: Oh great.
<The circular platforms above him close up and the fan underneath the floor
stops, allowing the room to be flooded with noxious green fumes.>
DANTE: As if I didn't have enough obstacles already...
<He walks around and a blue seal appears over the exit, and a game piece and
die falls from the ceiling. Instead of playing, he simply runs back and slices
the die in two. Later on, Berial is seen looking at the Savior in the sky.>
BERIAL: A human posing as God...? How ridiculous!
DANTE: You don't say...
<BERIAL looks around and sees DANTE waving at him from atop his tail.>
BERIAL: What the...
<He tries to swing him off and DANTE eventually lands on the ground, beating
out the flames on his coat.>
DANTE: Wish you would've noticed me earlier... Now my coat's all charred.
BERIAL: The infamous son of Sparda... I will avenge my compatriots slain by
your sword!
<They fight and DANTE defeats BERIAL.>
BERIAL: You surpass my abilities... How shameful!
DANTE: You can stay and die or you can walk your ugly ass back through that
gate. It's your call, pal.
BERIAL: I've retreated once and will not do so again.
<He concentrates himself into a fireball and launches himself at DANTE, who
breaks the fireball with one bullet.>
DANTE: That's a letdown... I was hoping for a bit more than just a few
sparks...
<He takes the third orb by the Hellgate and a set of metallic wings named
Lucifer appear on his back. He leaps into the air and tests out the new weapon
by doing a Mexican dance in the air whilst shooting out explosive red spikes.>
DANTE: First I whip it out! Then I thrust it! With great force! Every angle...!
It penetrates! Until...! With great strength...! I... ram it in!
<He lands with a rose in mouth, and the camera shows that he has made a heart
shape out of spikes on the Hellgate.>
DANTE: In the end...
<He snaps his fingers and the spikes explode, causing the gate to break.>
DANTE: We are all satisfied... And you are set free...!
<He tosses the rose at the remaining spike in the middle of the heart shape,
and the heart cracks into two to reveal the Savior in the sky. He holds his
hand up.>
DANTE: You don't look so big from where I'm standing. Now it's just you and me,
Mr. Savior.

[[[ MISSION SEVENTEEN :: ADAGIO FOR STRINGS ]]]------------------------------17

<DANTE makes his way through to the Opera House, where AGNUS is sitting. The
spotlight shines on him and a musical scene begins.>
AGNUS: It was my assumption that those demons would prove far inferior... In
the face of your tactics.
DANTE: You summon and kill... Summon and kill... I fail to see the logic here.
Is sanity the price to pay for power!?
AGNUS: Humans... They are but stubborn and foolish. It takes a journey to Hell
for them to accept and praise their God. A fact that tickle's irony's
judgment.
DANTE: And your judgments interests me not. For I'm here... To reclaim... What
is rightfully mine.
<AGNUS transforms into demon form and holds up his sword.>
AGNUS: Yamato! That is what you seek. And that is why I wait in your path!
DANTE: You will fumble in your opposition of my quest.
<He fires his gun into the air.>
DANTE: Though I encourage! For an opportunity to battle a being of such grand
delusions as you, is a sweet fortune!
<DANTE soon beats AGNUS in battle, and the latter transforms back to human.>
AGNUS: How... can there be such a difference b-b-b-between us?
DANTE: You surrendered your humanity. It's that simple.
AGNUS: But you are not human...! So why am I inferior!?
DANTE: You assume humans are weak... OK yeah, their bodies lack the physical
ability of a demon, but humans possess something that demons don't.
<AGNUS is seen taking notes of what DANTE is saying.>
AGNUS: What...? What is it that demons l-l-lack? Please, for the sake of my
research! Please! Tell me!
<DANTE puts a bullet in his clipboard, causing all the paper to fly into the
air.>
AGNUS: No! No, no! Oh no, no no no no...
DANTE: If you're gonna continue your research in the next world...
<AGNUS holds up a page of his ruined notes, and sees DANTE aiming a gun through
the hole.>
DANTE: Do your homework first...
<He shoots, and AGNUS is thrown back onto a bench as he dies.>
DANTE: And the rest is silence.
<He finishes off the musical with another gunshot.>

[[[ MISSION EIGHTEEN :: THE DESTROYER ]]]------------------------------------18

<DANTE walks into the ceremonial chamber where Yamato is and pulls it out of
the red gem. Instantly the markings on the ground disappear. DANTE then heads
into town, where the large Hellgate is.>
DANTE: I know this thing's a major cultural artifact... but it's bad for the
community.
<He slices the air with Yamato several times and the Hellgate is cut into two.
TRISH soon walks up beside him.>
TRISH: You get it back?
<DANTE holds up the katana in answer as they both look at the Savior.>
DANTE: That's one sword...
TRISH: And one to go. Need some company?
DANTE: I think you'd better help the others. Try to get them as far away from
here as possible.
TRISH: Got it.
<DANTE makes his way up to a higher vantage point, where he is close to the
Savior.>
SANCTUS: You destroyed the Hell Gates!
DANTE: Yeah... kinda tainted the view. So... you ready to fight now or what?
SANCTUS: You travelled this far to fight me!? You could never touch the power
of the Savior!
DANTE: Sounds like you're overcompensating... Besides, I didn't want you to get
a creak in your neck from lookin' down at me.
SANCTUS: Silence! What would it take for you to alter your position?
DANTE: How about death?
<DANTE fights the Biancos and eventually plunges his sword into the Savior, and
stands on it.>
DANTE: So, you ready to eat your words?
SANCTUS: Do as you wish, your attempts are futile.
<He slashes at DANTE, but he has already disappeared. From behind him, DANTE
shoots a single bullet and SANCTUS's empty shell breaks apart.>
DANTE: The true form must be inside... Looks like it's up to me to take care of
ugly here!
<DANTE jumps from platform to platform and shoots the Savior's many blue gems.
Eventually he stabs the one on its chest, but he cannot break it with Yamato.>
SANCTUS: Even Yamato is powerless in opposition to the Savior!
DANTE: If the exterior is solid...
<He shoots several bullets into Yamato's handle, pushing it through the
exterior of the gem and into the soft inside.>
DANTE: .. then you gotta take it out from the inside.
<The Savior collapses forward.>
SANCTUS: No...! What have you done!?
DANTE: Time to wake up kid, you're missing out on all the fun. Nero!
<Inside the Savior, NERO's arm emerges from his cocoon and grabs the Yamato to
slice the cocoon open. He stumbles out and hears DANTE's voice from outside.>
DANTE: It's up to you from here, kid! An opportunity to save the world doesn't
happen every day you know! Savor it.
NERO: This I will savor... Let's clean up this mess!

NERO: I'm gonna get this done!

<NERO makes his way through the area and encounters another dice game.
Meanwhile, DANTE is still holding his own against the Savior.>
NERO: Talk about shaking things up in here...!
DANTE: Hey, kid! You should see what I'm going through!
NERO: Guess we're in the same boat then.

<He makes his way to the heartcore and sees KYRIE inside. At the same time,
the corrupted SANCTUS appears nearby.>
SANCTUS: We had originally intended Dante to form the Savior's core. Perhaps it
would have been wise to adhere to that choice.
NERO: Too late for regrets. Now release Kyrie!
SANCTUS: Why oppose the Order? I knew your faith was weak, but I always thought
you served our wishes.
NERO: Bad enough you lying about all this and trying to kill me... But what
really pissed me off was using Kyrie.
SANCTUS: What is that? Love?
<KYRIE is sucked back into the heartcore.>
NERO: Look it up.
<He launches a energy ball at SANCTUS, who easily repels it. NERO dodges it but
SANCTUS has already disappeared.>
DANTE: Come on, kid! It's time to finish this!
NERO: Wrapping things up on my end.
SANCTUS: Don't be too sure, boy!
<He emerges from the ground behind NERO, who slashes wildly at him.>
SANCTUS: Although flawed, the power of the Savior is beyond that of which you
can defeat.
<They battle, and eventually SANCTUS staggers back. NERO goes in for one more
strike and SANCTUS falls.>
SANCTUS: The power of Sparda... Why won't you give me strength!? Am I not
worthy!?
NERO: Never could take those legends too literally. But I do know that Sparda
had a heart. A heart that could love another person, a human. And that is
what you lack.
<SANCTUS holds up the Force Edge to KYRIE's neck, and she whimpers in fear.>
NERO: This time I will save you. Just hold on...
SANCTUS: Don't move or I'll...
<NERO walks up to him slowly and suddenly throws Yamato. Distracted, SANCTUS
looks at the katana and NERO takes the opportunity to use the Devil Bringer to
slam him against the heartcore. He grabs Yamato as it falls and slices open the
membranes binding KYRIE, then turns and stabs SANCTUS through the stomach. As
SANCTUS fades away, KYRIE falls from the heart and NERO catches her.>
NERO: Sorry I took so long. Kyrie...?
<She looks up and they hug. Meanwhile, DANTE is still outside, and as the
Savior goes to punch him, DANTE manages to block the fist with his sword. He
senses immediately that the fight inside is finished.>
DANTE: It's over.
<He nudges the fist aside and looks up at the chest gem. A moment later, NERO
jumps out of it with KYRIE in his arms.>
DANTE: Took your time.
NERO: What, you're looking for an apology?
DANTE: Well, how long am I gonna have to wait for it?
<Behind them, the Savior suddenly rises again, with SANCTUS's facial features.>
DANTE: This guy just doesn't let it go!
NERO: This is where it started and this is where it will end... by my hand.
DANTE: Alright then...
<He takes the Force Edge from NERO's outstretched hand.>
DANTE: Go finish it, kid.
<NERO looks back at KYRIE.>
NERO: Wait for me...
<She smiles in response and he walks towards the Savior.>
NERO: You know God, I always hated that you made my arm like this... But now
with it, I can destroy this thing. Who would've thought...
<He uses the Devil Bringer to Buster the false Savior a few times, and it
falls.>
NERO: Now I know...
<He sends out one last Buster, to the Savior's face.>
NERO: This hand was made for sending guys like you back to hell! And... now...
you... DIE!!!
<The Savior topples to the ground after the attack, and NERO lands safely.>
NERO: Yeah!

[[[ EPILOGUE ]]]-------------------------------------------------------------XX

<NERO walks up to DANTE, who is standing in front of the cathedral.>
NERO: I guess I should thank you.
DANTE: But that'd be out of character. Maybe you should just throw an insult my
way instead.
NERO: Yeah, that sounds better. Still, I owe you.
DANTE: Don't sweat it. I had my reasons for helping... Take care of yourself.
<He claps NERO on the shoulder and starts to leave.>
NERO: Wait. You forgot this.
<He holds out Yamato.>
DANTE: Keep it.
NERO: What...? I thought this meant a lot to you...?
DANTE: That's the only kind of gift worth giving. I want to entrust it to you,
and so I am. What you do from here is your call.
NERO: Hey, Dante! Will we meet again?
<Dante does a salute as he walks away, and NERO absorbs Yamato into his arm.>
KYRIE: So... Is this the end?
NERO: Maybe... Maybe.
KYRIE: The city's a wreck.
NERO: Yeah.
KYRIE: I... I am still alive, right?
NERO: Yeah. We both are. Kyrie... If I'm a demon, and not a human anymore... is
this what you want?
KYRIE: Nero, you're you. And it's you I want to be with... I don't know anyone
who is as human as you are.
<NERO smiles and puts the winged necklace around her neck. As they close in for
a kiss, NERO suddenly pulls out his gun and shoots the Scarecrow beside them.
The camera then moves to show that a whole crowd has appeared.>
NERO: Looks like they're determined to interrupt. Guess that kiss is gonna have
to wait.
KYRIE: It's alright... I'll wait.
NERO: Thanks. Now... Let's rock!
<After the fight, KYRIE and NERO walk towards each other, and they hold hands
as they look up at the sky. Meanwhile, at the Devil May Cry building, LADY is
seen walking in.>
LADY: You're a lifesaver. Now I can finally do my job in peace.
<She puts a briefcase on the table, and TRISH opens it to find a tiny roll of
cash.>
TRISH: If it was a lifesaver gig then don't you think we deserve a little more?
You call this sincerity?
LADY: More? Was it not your fault that things escalated to the level that they
did? Bringing Sparda into the spotlight?
<Both women turn to stare at DANTE, and he tries to hide behind his magazine.
Unfortunately TRISH takes it from him.>
DANTE: Hey! I was just getting to the good part!
TRISH: This is your case too, Dante.
DANTE: Yeah... Well, we take what we can get, right?
LADY: Well. Then it's settled.
<The phone rings and TRISH picks up.>
TRISH: "Devil May Cry".
<She looks at Dante.>
TRISH: It's a customer with the password. They're nearby. What should we do?
DANTE: You need to ask?
<He grabs his stuff and heads towards the door.>
LADY: Can I come along?
DANTE: Do what you want, but don't expect to get paid.
LADY: There's something so exciting about all this...! You think so, right?
TRISH: I won't lie...
DANTE: OK, are you ready?
<He kicks the door off its hinges.>
DANTE: Come on, babes!
ALL: Let's rock!
