First pop in the disk and load the game up.
Once you get past the loading it will ask to create or load profile.
Create a profile and you will be put on main menu.
Go to options to customize your options.
After that, you can begin the story mode by going to underground mode.

*IV. Walkthrough *

This walkthrough will be more indepth as I take the time to explain it
better when I play through game again.
Game modes:
Circuit: Just like any other racing game. You go around in a loop and have
laps.
Sprint: First one to the finish line wins.
Drift: Slide around corners and the winner is the one with most drift points.
Drag: Test your shifting skills in this 1mil stretch.
Lap Knockout: Last person across each lap gets knocked out.
Tournament: Can be any of the above mentioned game modes. There are multiple
races and the winner is one with most points.

Once the game starts you have to race against 3 opponents to prove you are
worthy of the illegal street racing faction.
Game mode: Circuit

Shortcuts: There are shortcuts in many of the turns. There is also one
when you go through the subway tunnel. After the fork in the road, there
is a shortcut right before the turn under the bridge, it is right before
a big sign.
Tips: Just all out race on this one. No real strategy. If you don\'t win on
this I suggest you get a new game =)
Aftermath: Once you beat this you will be able to select the car of your
choice. I suggest the miata since it has excellent handling. Any one of
the cars is fine. I have beaten the underground mode several times using a
different starter each time, and they are equally good.

Question: How do I unlock x Car?
Answer: By beating a certain level in underground mode.
Question: How do I get the other vinyls?
Answer: Getting style points. Easiest way is to do drift mode races.
Question: How do I change the color of my vinyl?
Answer: After you apply the vinyl, go to the vinyl layer selection screen and
press square. Now you can change the color.
Question: How many style points do you need in order to get all unlockables?
Answer: You need about 3,000,000 style points to get all style points
unlockables. These do not include performance parts or body kits.
Question: What are the different types of ways to get style points?
Answer: Powerslide: Sliding around corners with lose traction of rear tires
Hang Time: Going over a jump (50+)
Clean Section: Not hitting anything for a duration of a race (50)
Drafting: Being in someone else\'s slipstrem, closely behind a car (25+)
Near miss: Nearly getting hit by traffic (100)
Shortcut: Going through a shortcut (100)
Lead lap: Being first in a lap (100)
Nitrous Purge: Tapping nitrous at begginning of race (150)
Clean lap: not hitting anything throughout an entire lap
Clean race: do not hit anything for the entire race
Drift King: Drift over 100,000 points to get the rating (10,000)
Victory: Winning the race (500)
Question: What does difficulty settings do?
Answer: Improves A.I. skill and more traffic. Does not give better rewards if
you win.
Question: Do brands make a difference in performance parts?
Answer: No, they are only there for you to customize your car to match
a real car (if your a streetracer).
Question: Is it possible to obtain all magazines?
Answer: Yes, some have to be done online and others by style points.
The racer X magazine is still a mystery to me.
Question: Can I customize my car further after I beat underground mode?
Answer: No, once you beat it that car will remain like that forever.
But you can customize the stock version of it to however you like.
Question: What happens when you beat the game?
Answer: (without spoilers) You are allowed to use all body kits on all cars.
You can also use the unique kits obtained in underground mode. You must
play underground mode with another profile in order to get all kits, such as
the wide body kits.
Question: It says I unlocked Mystikal, Rob Zombie, Etc car. What and where
is it?
Answer: These cars can only be used in quick race. They are the cars suped up
by the said person. You can not adjust these cars or customize them. The
creator wanted it to be that way.

*VIII. Tips*
************
Circuit: Try and go slow in the first few laps. Try and be ahead of the pack
but still near them a bit. The AI has the ability to catch up to you at 400mph
(or so it seems). Once they get near you, ram them or fish tail them into the
walls or traffic. On the last bit of stretch use nitro if you really have to.
It is best to just keep nitro at stock. The other cars will not have nitro
if you do not have it equipped. On the harder levels around level 90 and
especially 103, downgrade everything to level 2 and put nitro to stock. This
makes it so they can not use nitro either since they try and keep it fair.
Just don\'t forget to put them back on for the last 2 races, 111 and 112.
Sprint: Just try and stay in front entire time. I suggest going as fast as
possible and using nitro at the very end. Same strategy of ramming into walls.
Drag: If you really can\'t get it to perfect shift in the beginning, just rev
until you redline. You will get a headstart if your car is good enough. Try
and use NOS between 3*4th gears so you can switch gears sooner. This insures
you do not blow out your engine at the last gear using nitro.
Drift: Just try and get your back tires on the dashed lines on the outside.
This gives you bonus points and will help you win.
Lap Knockout: Try and see which car is the fastest opponent. Try and knock
that car out first. Then knock out the 2nd fastest and therefore you only
have to beat the slowest car in the end. Ramming into traffic and walls
is the best way to make them delayed.
Tournament: Even though you may lose one race or so, that does not mean
you lose the tournament. Just try and have the most points and make sure
to restart a certain race if you don\'t think you will win the tournament.
Always take shortcuts unless of course the shortcut is longer or makes you
crash into walls often. Be agressive and push into traffic and walls.
Detuning your cars will make the A.I. detune also and therefore make the race
easier. Faster you go, the harder your going to crash when you hit something.
