What do you need to hatch eggs? Can you leave just one Pokemon or do you have to leave two?

You need to place a Female and a Male Pokemon that are of the Same Egg Group in the DayCare Center in order for them to breed an egg.
You can also place just about any Pokemon (besides Legendary Pokemon), either male or female, in the DayCare Center with a Ditto and they will breed an egg.
Eggs hatch after walking a certain number of steps.
