Through skill, planning, luck, and patients. You need a team that works well together, is balanced, and isn't legendaries (they aren't allowed on the trains).

Lucky you, you've satumbled upon one of the worst features of the game. You need to go at it with a friend that knows what they're doing and has some well trained pokemon. Collaborate and create a team, beacause it is impossible to win with the pool of choices the computer has. More often than not, the computer will choose two Pokemon with the same weaknesses and stat builds that wrecks any type of strategy you thought you had planned. Good luck.
