You cannot download cheats directly to the gameboy (doesn't matter the model). You must use a cheat device.

You can "download" cheats on a device called the Action Replay that they sell at Wal-Mart.For $20-$30 it doesn't download cheats directly on the dsi(because that is unable to be done) it allows you to type codes (that are basically cheats) for any game and use them note:each series of digits/letters does a different thing ex:master code or exp code.But I advice not to use an Action Replay because there is a humongous chance that it will ruin your game and it's data.
