What do I have to do before I can battle Claire with my rival in the Dragon's Den? I've beat the league for the 2nd time, got my Kanto starter... What am I missing?

In order to fight Clair and Lance with your rival at the Dragon's Den you have to have battled your rival at Mt.Moon. You battle your rival as soon as you enter Mt.Moon and when he leaves he says something about the Dragon's Den. The path to Mt.Moon is east of Pewter City.

What you have to do is beat all of the gym leaders in both regions and go to Dragon's Den any time of the day.Surf to the left side of the building(from th dock)and you will see your rival training.Go over to him and he will start talking to you.Clair and Lance will pop up and challenge you.Lance asks you to team up with him and Clair asks your rival to team up with her.He will say he wants to team up with you and you begin to battle.

have u fought ur rival at mt.moon yet??? cause if u haven't,then u cant go against claire with ur rival at dragon's den.

You don't necisarily have to beat read and get a starter Pokemon I havent beaten red yet and I've beaten lance and claire with my rival a moment ago.first you go to mt. Moon and right when you walk in you will see your rival he will say some thing about the dragons den and he will leave.then go to the dragons den on the side where the door is NOT locatedand go up to him and a moment later lance and claire will show up.lance will want to be on your team and claire will want to be with your rival but you rival wont choose either he will choose you. But he is so weak I had to do more than half the battle alone.good thing my typhlosions a lv.80.
