How much money do you have to plant to get it to grow?

You can bury 100, 1000, or 10,000. You might be able to do more, but I wouldn't risk more money.

First of all you need a golden shovel to plant a money tree. Then for the money you put in, divide it by 1000 and thats the percentage of a money tree growing. For example, if you put 1000 bells in the ground you have a 1% chance of growing a money tree but if you plant 10,000 bells you have a 10% chance of growing a money tree. But there is a catch. You can't plant anything over 90,000 bells or no money tree comes no matter what. If you plant 90,001 bells in the ground there is a 0% chance of a money tree appearing. I hope I helped.
