The friend code is a important tool in going to your friends towns over Wi-Fi
Which is the totally free service nintendo has set up to respond with your DS.

To get it connect over the internet using wireless broadband or a hotspot.
(you may have to configure your DS's setting to respond with the device you are trying to interface with.) Then go to copper at your town gate (dog on right) and ask to go out over wi-fi .even though you aren't going to anybodys town... You will still recieve a friend code.

If you get your friends code then he/she will be able to go to your town (providing your gates are open) and if he gives you his/her friend code...well, vice versa!

Hi! I like to wear the Luigi clothing because I am a little brother, so my older brother wears the Mario clothing. Funny, huh?

You get a friend code by Wi-Fi Connection. When you connect, it tells you who you are.
