Jackieboy Tips:

Each Golden tool has it's own different use. These tools work better than their regular counterparts.

Golden Slingshot:
Fires 3 rocks instead of 1.

Golden Net:
The net is twice as big.

Golden Watering Can:
If you water wilted Black Roses with this can they will become Gold Roses.

Golden Shovel:
You can bury Bells and it will grow into a Money Tree.
(requires around 100,000+ Bells)

Golden Fishing Rod:
Increases 'reel in' time by 5 seconds.

Golden Axe:
Doesn't break from over-usage like a regular one.

As for the bank, If you go to The Town Hall's Post Office (the right booth) and select 'Access Account' in the menu, your can store Bells in there.

Every month, you will receive interest, which will be a small percentage of your savings.

Hope I helped!

Golden items:
Axe, never breaks
Fishing rod, increases reel time
Net, twice as big
Shovel, bury a lot of bells and it might grow into a tree
Slingshot, fires three rocks instead of one
Watering can, water black plants then they'll turn gold.
There is a bank at The Post Office. Go to the counter at the right hand side and you'll need to say access account and then you'll be able store your bells.
Every month you'll get a small percentage of your savings E.g 100,000 in your bank = 100 bells (I'm not sure if this is accurate)

Lt Verwolf answered:

For the golden shovel: when you bury bells they might grow into a money tree. The percentage which it will grow depends on how much you planted. If you bury 100 bells there is a 0.1% chance that it will grow. If you bury 2000 bells there is a 2% chance it will grow. So if you bury 63,000 bells, a 63% chance it will grow.
