If you want to breed a starter pokemon,this is how,

Put your male/female starter pokemon in the day care,Then put a ditto of the opposite gender.Walk a bit and talk to the guy out side the day care.He will say that you have an egg,Go inside and talk to the women.she will give you a egg(have a empty space in your party)walk around and when the egg hatches it will be the basic form of your starter.(examples-Infernape+ditto=chimchar)
