Choose the Right Difficulty

In Need for Speed Unbound you are given three Challenge Level difficulties from which to choose from, and it is important in order to enjoy the game that you select the one that corresponds with your level of proficiency in the game. The difficulties are as follows:

Relaxed:

10 Restarts per day.

Challenging:

4 Restarts per day.

Intense:

2 Restarts per day.

Aside from the number of restarts you are given the difficulty that you choose will determine the amount of health your car gets. Basically, the more difficult the level the less health your car gets and the tougher the cops and competitors will be in chases and rival races. Keep in mind that you are not locked into the difficulty you select at the start of the game, you can change it at any time by going back to the garage.

Your First Car

At the beginning of Need for Speed Unbound the game will give you a choice of three cars. Don't spend too much time on making a decision as all three cars are more or less the same. Besides, it won't be long before you get access to much better cars.

Pick your Routes Wisely

In Need for Speed Unbound there are different routes you can take, and they all lead to the finish line. The difference between them is that some are more difficult to navigate through than others as they may involve having to perform a risky jump or get around a tight bend. If you are unsure what fork to take in the road the best tactic is to take the easy route if you are leading the race and be aggressive and take the dangerous one if you need to make up ground to get back into the race. Find the Gas Stations

Unlike the bear and billboard collectibles, gas stations will not appear on the map until you find them. Gas stations are scattered around the map and are lit up in bright blue which makes them difficult to miss. Make sure you keep an eye out for gas stations because if you drive through them your car will be instantly repaired. Knowing where the gas stations are during police chases can be very helpful if your car is on the brink of destruction. Gas stations can also be handy during missions where you must deliver vehicles in specific conditions. If you go to a gas station before you hand in the vehicle you can repair it and get the maximum cash available for it.

Bank your Money

Need for Speed Unbound’s system for earning money has a lot in common with 2019’s NFS Heat, in that the game requires you to manually bank all the money you’ve earned during a particular day or night session by heading back to the garage. If you get busted by the cops before you’re able to do that, you lose all the cash you had on hand. As such, it’s a good idea to regularly keep heading back to your garage to bank the money you’ve earned.

Participate in Optional Activities to Earn Cash

Need for Speed Unbound is an open world racer and the map of Lakeshore City has a number of different side activities you can participate in. Resist the temptation to simply jump from race to race and instead explore the city and engage in these optional activities that include breaking billboards, completing challenges, and finding collectibles as they each yield cash rewards which will enable you to build up your balance you can spend more on cars and upgrades.
