Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is an action role-playing game that is the sixth installment in the Monster Hunter series. We have a collection of cheats and tips that will help you defeat and capture the beasts in the game.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Trailer

In Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak you take the role of a Hunter, tasked with slaying or capturing large monsters using a variety of weapons, tools, and environmental features to damage and weaken them while surviving their attacks.

Successful completion of the offered quests provides loot, typically in the form of various monster parts from the monster, which is used to forge new armor and weapons that can be used to take on more powerful monsters, forming the series' notable core loop.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak follows many of the new conventions established in Monster Hunter: World, while also introducing new features and mechanics, including a new animal companion called a Palamute that can be used to ride across the map or into battle, and the use of Wirebugs to traverse the world and mount and ride certain monsters.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is available on the Nintendo Switch and PC.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Hints, Tips Strategy

Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you to progress in the game. These include why you should always take the time to talk to the villagers in Elgado and how to reach Master Rank. As well as these hints and tips, we also have a Beginners Guide here which goes into more detail on some of the tips we have below:

  • Talk to the Villagers

Whenever you complete an Urgent Quest in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the villagers around Elgado will have something new to say. Make sure you take the time to talk to them as doing so will enable you to unlock new features and requests which will be gated behind these conversations.

Take a look at our How to Unlock Followers guide to find out how you can recruit these AI characters.

  • Be Properly Equipped

It is essential that you are properly equipped before you go on hunts, this means you should not rush through the story too quickly as doing so will leave you ill-equipped to deal with the challenges you need to face. If you acquire the gear of an early monster such as the Daimyo Hermitaur it will be adequate to get you through the early to mid-game.

Keep in mind that although this particular gear gives you a well-rounded set of skills that are usable for almost any build or weapon the armor is extremely weak to the fire element. Take a look at our Weapon Tier List to find out what the best weapons are in Monster Hunt Rise: Sunbreak.

  • Cure Bleed

If you have sustained damage from a monster that inflicts bleed the fastest and easiest way to cure it is to crouch and stand still. If you keep moving, dodging, and running you will continue to build up the bleed gauge and end up doing even more damage to yourself. Look for a safe spot and stand still as soon as you get this status effect. Another way to cure it is to cook and eat a well-done steak.

  • Cohoot Nest

The Cohoot Nest can be found in Elgado on top of the back wall of the Command Post. You can find Eurekacorns here which you can use to improve the Skill Memory of your Buddies, so they are able to learn more Skills than they were previously able to.

Take a look at our How t Unlock Switch Skills guide to find out how you can switch between two loadouts at any moment during combat.

  • Reaching Master Rank

If you are struggling to defeat Daimyo Hermitaur and progress into the Master Rank, it may be because your current weapons and armor are under powered. Check to make sure that you have High Rank weapons and armor equipped, and upgrade your armor with Armor Spheres. If you are fully equipped, you should be able to defeat Daimyo Hermitaur and make it into Master Rank.

  • Progress the Story

Look at the indicator in the top right corner of the screen whenever you are unsure what to do next in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak as this will tell you who to talk to or what to do to progress the story. If you then open the Detailed Map, the area you need to fast travel to find the person will be marked in red allowing you to locate them easily.
