How to Perfect Dodge in Monster Hunter Now
The perfect dodge is not an easy maneuver to pull off in Monster Hunter Now as it requires exact timing. Mastering this move though is worthwhile the time invested as it not only allows you to avoid an incoming monster attack it also means that your next attack if you are using the hammer becomes a special move.
To perform a Perfect Dodge you simply have to swipe left to dodge left and right to dodge right. You can also spam swipe to continue dodging in a desired direction. To perfect dodge correctly it is crucial that you get the timing right. In order to do this you need to pay close attention to when the monster begins to glow red as this signifies that the beast is about to pull off an attack. You should be able to decipher the direction the attack will come from by the creature's body language and dodge away from it. This though must be done at the last possible moment before an attack connects.

You will know straight away whether you have pulled off a Perfect Dodge. Your character will glow yellow and leave behind a trail yellow trail as it performs a dodge roll that moves further than a regular dodge. During that time your character will be completely invulnerable to attack.

If you perform a Perfect Dodge while having the hammer equipped you will be able to capitalize on a powerful special move to do extra damage to the monster. The special attack you unleash depends on the type of hammer you are using.
- Attack from Behind
A good strategy when performing the Perfect Dodge is to roll behind the monster, then come out of the roll and into combos that score critical hits and deal even more damage.
