One of the benefits of collecting coins is they boost your speed, the maximum amount of coins you can collect while still recieving this effect is 10. Each time you hit an obstacle you will lose 3 coins. Coins you can get from courses are capped at 300 per day, you can find out if you have reached the limit by checking the course results page. Once you reach Player Level 12 the store will become unlocked and you will give you the opportunity to spend coins on Super rarity drivers and items.
Listed below are the differnt ways you can get coins in Mario Kart Tour.
• Do A Coin Rush
• Gather from Courses
• From Login Bonuses
• From Tour Gifts
• From Ranking Placement Gifts
Do A Coin Rush
Coin Rush lets you play as Gold Mario on a track that is dedicated solely to collecting coins. There are no other drivers to look out for in this mode and you do not have to drive over the coins directly to pick them up as nearby coins will be drawn to Mario as you race across the track. You will maximise your coin profit by staying in the middle of the track, doing so will also make it easier to pick up the Red and Blue Coins which tend to be in the middle of the track and counts for more coins than a normal Gold Coin. The Coin Rush costs Rubies to race in, the more rubies you spend the higher the multiplier you will get at the end of your run. The Ruby costs and multipliers are:
5 Rubies: 2x multiplier
15 Rubies: 6x multiplier
25 Rubies: 10x multiplier
One run of Coin Rush will net you between 375 and 400 coins, which when you multiply that amount by x2, x6, or x10 depending on Rubies spent there is the potential to bring in 4000 coins per run.
Gather From Courses
Coins can be gathered from courses by picking them up or from Item Box, which will give you 2 coins. Focus on picking up coins on the first lap and then jockey for 1st place on the last lap.
Attack Opponents For Them To Drop Coins
You can make opponents drop coins by striking them with either Red or Green Shells. As you get ahead in races you will find yourself being targeted more by opponents for your coins. If you keep an item such as a banana or shell on the rear of your vehicle it will protect you from Red Shell attacks from opponents.
From Login Bonuses
It's worthwhile trying to log in everyday as there will be times you will be awarded coins from daily login bonuses.
Tour Gifts
There will be instances where you will get coins as rewards from Tour Gifts. Complete tours and Cups to get prizes, if you have a Gold Pass you will get more items from the Tour Gift.
From Ranking Placement Gifts
Some Cups in Mario Kart Tour have a Ranking system where you will be able to compete by highest points earned. The Placement Gift for these can be lucrative.
