Grand Stars Guide

Grand Stars in Mario Kart Tour enable you to unlock new cups and tour gifts. Check out our Grand Stars Guide to find out everything you need to know about them.

In Mario Kart Tour you are given Grand Stars as a reward when you complete races, the amount of Grand Stars you get is dependent on how many points you earned during a race. There are 3 types of points you can earn - Position Points, Base Points, and Bonus Points. The way you get these are as follows:

Position Points

These points are based on the race result. Coming in 1st place will get you the most points.

Base Points

These points are determined by what driver, kart, and glider you chose.

Bonus Points

These points are awarded during the race when you perform stunts as you go over ramps, they are also awarded by:

• Rocket start

• Acquiring coins

• Attacking another driver with item

• Using Turbos (mini-turbo, jump turbo, etc.)

• Using item during Frenzy mode

Each of the different courses in Mario Kart Tour will have a certain amount of points you will need to earn to get a Grand Star. Your objective during a race is to try and accrue as many points as you can to earn as many Grand Stars as possible. Grand Stars will enable you to purchase new cups, characters, and other tour gifts from the in-game shop. Unlocking cups will let you progress through a specific tour, new characters will give you a bigger roster to choose from, and tour gifts such as Rubies can let you play mini-games to earn other prizes.
