The Poltergust G-00 makes its debut in Luigi's Mansion 3, check out our How to use the Poltergust G-00 to find out everything you need to know about this weapon Luigi uses to capture and kill ghosts.
Like previous versions, the Poltergust in Luigi's Mansion 3 uses the Strobulb equipment which is a flash attack which stuns the ghost and is performed the precise moment the ghost moves its shield and becomes vulnerable. It also has the Dark-Light Device from Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon which can reveal objects that have turned invisible and can be used to track the ghostly footprints of Pulterpup the ghost dog if you get lost. New to the Poltergust is an area burst attack that can keep multiple enemies at bay, a Suction Shot which is the weapons ability to fire grabable toilet plungers attached to a cord onto obstacles and then remove them by pulling on the Poltergust, and a slam attack, which enables you to slam ghosts you are trying to capture into the ground or use them as weapons to hit other ghosts in the area. The glass cylinder attached to the back of the Poltergust also serves as a storage tank for Gooigi.
Near the beginning of the game when Luigi is being chased by King Boo you will reach the stage where you are left with no choice but to jump down the Laundry Shaft to keep Luigi alive. If you follow Pulterpup the ghost dog when Luigi wakes up he will lead you to a vintage car. Inside that car you will find the Poltergust G-00.
Aiming
To aim the Poltergust G-00 you use the left joystick to go left or right, and then you use the right joystick to move up and down. You can use the motion controls to make Luigi look up or down (they won't make him look left or right). If you're playing in handheld mode, tilt the entire console, or tilt the Joy-Cons if you're using detached Joy-Cons. Note: motion controls do not work on Switch Lite.
Stroubub
To flash the Strobulb you either press the A or the R button.
Suction Shot
To shoot the Suction Shot's plunger you either press the Y or L button.
Burst Attack
A Burst attack is performed by pressing ZL and ZR down at the same time. This will send out a large blast of air to blow enemies away from you.
