How to find the hidden Boos

In Luigi's Mansion 3 Boos are ghosts that are named after the sound that one might make when trying to frighten someone. Check out our How to find the hidden Boos guide to get tips on how to find these invisible ghosts that appear randomly in the hotel rooms.

There are 17 Boos total (16 excluding King Boo), each of which are unique. Collecting all Boos will earn you the 'Captured All Boos' award and unlock a special Strobulb (Flashlight Type-B) for the Poltergust G-00.

• When you feel the controller you are using vibrate it indicates a Boo is near so explore the nearby rooms. The vibration will increase as you approach the room with the Boo in it.

• You will know that you are in a 'Boo room' when the scary, orchestral music starts to play loudly.

• Once you have entered the same room as the Boo you need to pay attention to the controller vibration and the way the ectoplasm shakes inside the Poltergust. The stronger the vibration and the harder the goo shakes, the closer you are to Boo.

• The most likely places that the Boo will be hiding will be in an interactable object such as a vase, barrels, trash can, or drawer.

• The Boo will move to another room if you guess wrong. The room it moves to will always be on the same floor and it will only go to a few rooms so you will never have to chase it to too many locations.

• Once you discover the hiding place of the Boo, the exits will lock and you will not be able to leave until you have captured it.

• To capture a Boo, you need to use your Dark Light to reveal the Boo.

• If you notice that the floor is covered in a ghostly fog you need to look at the floor for where clear space appears. This is a sign that the boo is hovering over those spaces while invisible.

• Once the Boo has been revealed, it will stick out its tongue and the number 20 will appear above its head to indicate the amount of health it has.

• You now need to Vacuum the Boo and tap A repeatedly to pound it into the ground over and over again.

• You will need to repeat this 2 to 3 times before you fully capture Boo.

Boo Reward

A special Strobulb for the Poltergust G-00with that will have Boos image in it is the reward you get for finding all the Boos in Luigi's Mansion 3.

Boo Finder Item

If you want help finding the Boos and you have the money you can purchase a Boo Finder from Professor E. Gadd for 1000 gold. This item will project an image of a Boo on to your map to let you know which room to search. Once it has been used it disappears.
