Have you been trying to get an "S" rating on a certain level but you just wont make it past "A"? Its probably your "skills' or proper use of them while battling is what you're not paying close attention to. It’s very important that you level-up your skills as they can really make the difference when it comes to leaving your Competition in the scoreboard -- not to mention, the added perks it lends you in the "Stylist’s Arena".

Skills

There are basically two types of skill in the game. One type mainly attacks your opponent, and the other type - somewhat a passive buff that could reflect a damage inflicted by your opponent, or simply defend you. This system was put in place to basically add an RPS (rock paper scissor) mechanic -- which in return lend the player some level of participation in its auto-played battles (at the same time giving you the capacity to affect the result of the battle).

Below are the known skills in the game, as well as their concluding effect.

Smile: Increases your score by a certain %

Picky Immune: Immunity against your opponent’s "Critical Eye" skill

Critical Eye: Decreases the opponent’s score by a certain %

Picky Bounce: Reflects your opponent’s "Critical Eye" skill on them.

Charming: Increases the next style’s score by a %.

Gift (Arena Skill): A de-buff that makes your opponent lose their sock for a period of time.

Gift immune (Arena Skill); Protection against the "Gift" skill when used by your opponent.

Gift Bounce (Arena Skill): Reflects your opponent's Gift skill on them.

Clock (Arena Skill): A de-buff that makes your opponent lose their shoes for a period of time.

Clock Immune (Arena Skill): Protection against the "Clock" skill when used by your opponent.

Cinderella (Arena Skill): Reflects your opponent's "Clock" skill on them.

Sleeping: Makes your opponent sleep -- which disables any form of attack or defense.

True Love: The only skill that can remove the "Sleep" effect.

Take note that some of the above mentioned skills have "Arena Skill" labels which means they can only be used in the Arena -- meaning you cannot use them when playing through the chapters of the main story. To put into use whichever skill you wish while battling, simply tap on their respective buttons while you are in a battle. As you play through the initial levels of the game, you'll unlock them one skill at a time to familiarize you on how they can affect your battles. Also, note that you can only select 4 active skills at a time.

Upgrading your skills will set you back some gold coins but their relative effect becomes better. Also, note that the higher the level of your skill gets, the more expensive you'll have to shell out to upgrade it further. Don’t forget to tap on the arrow to check out all the skills available to you.
