In Lethal Company you will encounter two totally different types of doors that might be locked, these will be regular doors and security doors. Both types of doors can be opened, but by using two completely different methods. Locked doors require keys while security doors can only be opened by a teammate at a terminal on the ship.
- How to Unlock Regular Doors
The regular locked doors you come across in Lethal Company can be opened by using a key. Keys are one-use items that are randomly generated, this means there is no guarantee that you will easily be able to find one while looking for scrap. If you are unable to find a key it will mean the locked door will remain locked.
If you manage to find a key all you need to do is simply approach the regular locked door you want to unlock and interact with it. The door will then open up and the key will be used up.
- How to Unlock Security Doors
To open up the security doors that are locked in Lethal Company requires teamwork and the Terminal back on the Ship. The teammate that is left behind on the ship should be closely monitoring the Terminal relaying information using their walkie-talkie that will help the rest of the crew. One of these ways is helping teammates unlock security doors.
The teammate left behind on the ship must interact with the Terminal and select 'View Monitor'. This will bring up a map that will show you a birds-eye view of one player as they traverse through the complex. You now need to locate the player that has encountered the security door that needs to be unlocked.
This can be done by inputting the command 'Switch' followed by the player's name. There will be a letter and number beside that player, this can be anything from A1 - Z9. If you now input that code into the Terminal the security door will unlock and the player will be able to access it.
You can also lock a security door by inputting the code. If you have successfully locked a door it will turn red on the radar. If you need to open it again you simply input the code again.
