All I can say every holiday comes their are some special character like eg. Halloween or Christmas that required special coins.. Hope it will help you

1) You can collect extra Cash and XP by visiting your friends' Springfields and tapping on their Buildings.

2) At the moment you can collect extra Santa Coins by visiting your friends' Springfields and tapping on Buildings with Christmas lights.

3) You can increase your Socialism level by visiting friends.

4) You can increase your Righteousness level by having friends vandalize your Buildings (school, city hall, Moe's Tavern) and then cleaning them up.
