How do you breed them though, and how do you lure them into it. They won't follow you with wheat in your hand

Breeding was added December 2013 in version 0.8.0. To breed Animals, hold your finger on an animal with their breeding item in your hand. Do this for two animals of the same species and they will breed together and produce a baby. The animals also follow you when you are holding their breeding item.
These Items are:
- Cows/Sheep: Wheat
- Pigs: Carrots
- Chickens: Wheat Seeds
