Hero Academy is basically the same online multiplayer turn-based strategy game as the original but has had elements of Hearthstone added to it. The objective of the game is to use decks full of heroes, equipment, and spells against opposing players in an effort to destroy their crystals. You summon the units of your army to the field of battle using mana and then position them to attack using their action points.

To be able to attack the enemy you must position your unit within range. The amount of distance your units can move, the number of actions per turn and what areas their spells will affect is determined by the configuration of your unit. Your units are distilled into cards, and decks of these units can fall into one of a few types, each of which has their own unique characteristics and hero powers that you can equip and use throughout the course of a battle.

You start out with the game’s basic cards and you then have the option of either grinding out or paying for currency which you can use to open card packs. There are multiple ways of getting new cards including playing single-player campaigns and challenges as well as missions that reset every eight hours. As you collect cards and put together units for your army you will be able to test the new decks you build online against other players who are doing the same thing.
