What are Air-Drops

During matches of Garena Free Fire crates with supplies will occassionally be dropped onto the battlezone. These air-drops will contain valuable loot which may in some instances be impossible to gain otherwise. Crate Contents

Once a match begins a plane will appear on the horizon ever few minutes and start to drop supplies at random places along the route of its flight. When the dropped crate hits the ground its location will be marked with a yellow beam that lights up vertically. If you make your way towards the area the air-drop landed you will be able to start collecting items when you approach the package. Inside an air-drop crate you will typically find a high-level armour (level 4), a level 3 Helmet, a camouflage item, a large amount of ammunition and most importantly valuable weapons. There may also be additional items such as Medkits and grenades. The following list are exclusive weapons that can only be gained through a air-drop.

Approaching Air-Drops

Collecting loot from an air-drop is dangerous as you will not be the only player converging on the dropped package and its valuable contents. An air-drop is visible to other players on a large part of the island and they will also want to retrieve the valuable equipment they are guaranteed to get from them. Before you try to reach an air-drop you must determine the distance to it and whether it is worth trying to obtain the loot. If you are a fair distance away from the air-drop the liklihood is that another player will reach it first, if you cannot reach the area where the crate has landed within a dozen seconds it is probably not worth taking the risk. If however you can reach it within this time frame you need to ensure you position yourself in such a way that your character is covered from the side you are likely be attacked by others while you collect the contents of the crate. One way to protect yourself is to create a Gloo Wall covering one of four square corners of the air-drop, doing this will make it difficult for enemies to shoot you.
