Samus's Super Frustrating Secret Grapple Beam Extension

Added:

Well, folks, if you want something really cool but difficult to do, then check this out.

The easiest way to do this is in Practice Mode. Once you are there, set the game speed at 1/4 so that you won't mess-up so many times. Be sure to play as Samus when you do this. Now, start by pressing the Z Button, where Samus fires her Grapple Beam. Don't stand right up to a wall or it won't work. Half a second later, press the Z Button and a direction on the Control Pad at the same time. Note I said the Control Pad, not the Control Stick. half a second after that, press Z and the next direction on the Control Pad, going counter-clockwise.

So, if you started by pressing Up on the Control Pad with Z, you will now want to press Right with Z, then Down with Z, and so-on. Keep doing this with rythm, making sure not to press Z right after Samus fully retracts the Beam (although it's tough to do this when you are trying to keep a perfect rythm, pressing each button perfectly.) This is very difficult to do, so please don't hop on the computer and Bogus this just because it didn't work the first 5 times. Actually, it took me about 10-15 times before I was successful.

If successful, your Grapple Beam should extend to be about 2 or 3 times longer than normal. Somewhere along your button pressing you should look up at the screen and see the Beam shoot out farther than normal. After this, you can simply press the Z Button and it will extend by 2 or 3 times with you having to go through the really tough button combinations. This effect will last until you are KOed, so if you are KOed, you will have to do the whole rythm thing again. If you want to attack a foe with this, you must press A as soon as the Grapple Beam tip touches your target. Proceed regularly.

Extremely tough, but it's worth it. (I would love to impress the people at the Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament with this)
