OK, I beat the elite four, went home and the t.v. Didnt say anything about latias. What do I do now? Do I just start looking everywhere?

Yeah I am pretty sure you just look for it because I know on emerald it asks you what color was it or something.
Yeah, just start looking. In Emerald it will say something about someone seing a rare "bzzzz" coloured flying pokemon. They have never seen it before. After the broadcast, your mum will say something like" wow that is amazing. What colour did they say it was?" if you say blue, latios will start appearing, if you say red, latias will. This is only in emerald. In saphire, latias will just start appearing.

You have to watch the T.V on your mum's not in your room so if you watched it keep searching for it you might find it.
