Question for Pokemon Sapphire

Hey people
I was just wondering how to I evolve my Tyrogue.
On my Leaf Green game, I had a Hitmonchan and a Ditto and placed them together in the daycare centre and got an egg which hatched into Tyrogue. Now all I want to do is to get Tyrogue to evole into either Hitmonlee or Hitmontop (Because I already have a Hitmonchan). Can someone please help me? Does Tyrogue evolve with friendship or something because I really need to know.

To get a hitmontop you need to be level 20 with it's attack = it's deffense to get a hitmonlee you need it's attack to be greater then it's deffense.
