Question for Pokemon Sapphire

I have a question about cheating devices. I am thinking of getting one for my game boy SP. What do you recommend?
Gameshark or Action Replay? I have heard they crash sometimes.
Is that true? How much do they cost?
Buy at gaming store or walmart? Are they worth the money?
I want the cheating device for Pokemon games. Legendary Pokemon is what I want it for. Ho-oh, Lugia, Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys and more. Is it worth it?
Can it screw up your game?
Please answer my questions!!!!

I'd buy them at an online store like, and i'd reccomend action replay. It can screw up your game.

I wouldn't buy one if I was you, but it's up to you.

I would get an AR
They can freeze your game
In england around 20 pound in the us I don't know
They are worth the money
Yeah look in the AR section for the codes
It can screw up your game and that is why I don't use mine anymore

1. I haven't tried Gameshark, but my AR works very well for me.
2.They do crash, it only happened to me once. Everything in my AR device was deleted, so I had to type in my codes all over again. Luckily, it didn't erase my game file.
3. Depends on how you use your cheating device. They can cost around $15-20.
4. Gaming store by far, and if used correctly, they are indeed worth the money.
5. It's worth catching elusive Pok'emon too.
6. Yes it can, but only with improper use(i.e. More codes activated than 3 at a time).
Use a cheating device at your own risk.

Personally, I'd say yes, they're worth the $20(get them at a Wal-Mart, K-Mart, or even a game store, especially if you want to try and get a used one.

Make sure it's not too old or it will be harder to get codes and won't have as many pre-loaded ones) you'll spend to get one(maybe less used), but I speak only about the AR since that is all I have experience with, and that's the one I'd recommend.

AR seems to do less damage, and I thought they were taking Gameshark off the market, but I'm not sure about that. I do know thay have warp codes for the AR that when used properly can get you the legendaries you speak of in your questions in Emerald on the Islands you'd normally need Nintendo downloads to get to(if you decide to get Emerald), or regular codes for R/S that will put them into your PC in Box 1, Spot 1.

(but the spot must be empty for those to work, just so you know to clear it before you try to use one).

An Eon ticket code that will alow you to get the other Lat you didn't get in-game (after you've caught the 1st one, of course! In Sapphire, you get Latias after beating the E4, so it would allow you access to Southern Island where you can get Latios then, too!).

It also has other cool features like getting unlimited stuff like money, useful items, Master Balls, etc., that will make your gaming experience greater, but some people would say it's just downright cheating and you should do it the "right" way.

Like using it to get all the badges or fill your Pokedex is kind of missing the point of having the game at all! I use it mainly to get the stuff you'd need to get from a Nintendo Event and can only get once (like tickets to the Islands), even when there isn't an event anywhere near where you live...but lots of Master Balls are cool to have, too!

Using it to enhance rather than beat the game I think is just fine.
As far as messing up your game-YES, you can! It happens, but if you are careful, the chances are pretty low. Use only one or two codes at once(not conflicting ones, of course!!), don't put bad codes into your game(try to get ones from here at SC that have been tested, for example), and don't ever save until you know the consequences of your actions.

If you put too much stuff into your game, you can push out important stuff by accident! Like filling your bag or PC with everything you can find a code for may cause the game to freeze or worse-to get rid of key items you need and now cannot get back! Putting all the Key Items into your bag is a bad idea, too, because you cannot get rid of them, ever, and you'll take up space you'll need for other stuff and have duplicates of stuff you don't need to have.

ALWAYS check to see what you may have messed up before you save with the code on-if it has messed something up, then turn off the AR and don't do that same thing again!! If you have ANY weird problem, do the same-just turn it off!!! Don't use "walk through walls" codes-I've heard lots of bad thing about them.

Do your homework, and follow instructions, and you should be ok. Also, if you do go to a Nintendo sponsored event, they WON'T allow you to use games/Pokemon that have been messed with-like you couldn't get a ticket from them if you've used an AR on your game or a Pokemon in your game even if he's been traded into it from another one-they can tell!

I hope this answered your questions! Enjoy it if you get one!

P.S. You can easily get a Jirachi from the Colloseum Bonus Disc if you know someone who has it (like me!); it can be used over and over into games that don't already have one in it!
