Question for Pokemon Sapphire

I have a super rod and I used it hundreds of times and it's always, not even a nibble or oh a bite.....it got away is there some techniqe I'm supposed to use because I'm trying to get a waillord

You have to press "A" when you have a Pok�mon on the hook. When it says "Oh! A bite!", that's when you press "A." But instead of catching Wailord, catch Wailmer and train it to level 40. You're going to need Wailmer in your Pok�dex if you want to complete it.

Why don't you try a diffrent spot just keep trying you will get a bite sooner or later.
