Question for Pokemon Sapphire

Sometime ago I asked if the Mystery Event Is Exciting code works on sapphire I was told it does but when I tried to use it, it didn't work so is there a different code than the one for ruby?

Collect at least five gym badges and go to Petalburg City. Enter their P.C. Place and directly beside the computer you should see a guy asking for your profile. Enter this:
"MYSTERY EVENT IS EXCITING"
Save your game and turn off the power. On the Menu screen there should be a new feature, Mystery Event. Use this to trade items with your friends using the Nintendo Game Link Cable.
