Kadabra only evolves after trading him.

Kadabra is part of a special set that made their appearance is the origional Red/Blue/Green/Yellow versions. These Pokemon include Kadabra, Machoke, and Golem. These Pokemon only evolve when traded to another game pack. Good luck!
