Question for Pokemon Sapphire

I've been wondering, how long will it take me to capture Latias? I have beaten the Elite Four, and seen the TV broadcast about her.

My first Hall of Fame was 9 hours into the game, and not I have spent thirty hours looking for the cute red dragon. (Well, minus one hour for training my Raichu, Thundre, to be Master rank, and two hours for transferring my Master Ball from Ruby to Sapphire so I could get Rayquaza so I didn't have to wait until afetr the Elite Four).

I have heard she is west of Mauville but not past Verdanturf, so she will be from those boarders up and down. Is this true? How much longer do I have to search?

Once you have defeated the Elite Four you can go searching for Latias. However, it is not easy to find. There is no specific place where you can find it, so keep looking. You see, everytime you change Routes on your map, Latias changes too. If you have Gold, Silver, Or Crystal, this is the same with the Legendary Dogs. So I suggest that you continue training as normal, and one day you will find it.

It will run immediately, unless your first Pokemon is considerably stronger than it. Or you can put Wynaut, Wobbuffet or Trapinch as your first Pokemon, which prevents Latias from escaping. You'll need some strong balls to catch it. And make sure you weaken it first. After you have seen it for the first time, it will appear in your Pokedex, and obviously its area will continuously change.

So you could try to meet up with it somewhere. For example, keep surfing from Route 130, 131, 129, and Pacifidlog Town. Eventually, Latias will be in the same place as you. Keep looking till u find it. Don't change routes, or it'll go again. You can tell when you find it, because the game will pause for a bit, then you'll begin the battle with it. Continue asking more questions. Hope this helps.

Run around like crazy, then you will see her somewhere-you won't know until you find her. Once you see her, you can use the "Wingull House Trick". This allows you to prepare like crazy.

The "Wingull House Trick":
1. Get a powerful Pokémon with False Swipe.
2. Get several Ultra Balls.
3. Go to the Wingull House on some route...it's east of Fortree.
4. Check your Pokédex for Latias's area. If its not where you are, go into the Wingull House and back out.
5. Repeat step 4 until Latias is where you are.
6. Run around in the grass until you see her.
7. Have your powerful Pokémon use False Swipe.
8. Latias will probably run away here, so repeat steps 4-6 one more time.
9. Throw your Ultra Ball. If you catch her, congratulations! You have Latias! If not...well, try it again.
