Snorlax should be holding the leftovers as an item. They're not near Snorlax, he's actually holding them.

You must be exactly on the same space the snorlax was. Then use it and if you are on the correct spot, there should be some stars shooting up and says something like there is something beneath you. You will automaticly dig it up and get the left overs.

I caught one of the snorlax and it was certainly not holding any leftovers...you do have to stand on the exact spot the snorlax was on, use the itemfinder and, as previously stated, arrows will Fly, and you will automatically dig them up! It also works if you stand where Mr Fuji was in the Pokemon Tower, on the top level, in between the pillars, in order to get the soothe bell, and where the other snorlax also was to get the second leftovers...

You can also do the same if you stand where the final gym leader stood, and there you can get the macho brace.
