Where can I find the mushrooms? In Fire Red version?

If you mean the mushrooms for the man that teaches your Pokemon old moves, then you can catch Paris's or Parasects, they may be holding tiny mushrooms or mushrooms. Hope this helps.

I assume the mushrooms that you are referring to mean the tiny Mushrooms, or the Big Mushrooms that you can give to the Move tutor so that he can teach your Pokemon a move?
If that is the case, then you can find some of them in the wild grass areas. Or if you really need a lot of them at one time, catch some Paris's, that tiny crab Pokemon, and it should be holding a Tiny Mushroom.

While its true that its easy to capture them, I just use covet/thief to save time, money and effort

So easy...mushrooms can only be found in these pokemons : parasect and paras they always hold tiny and big mushrooms...! Hope I help

paras and parasact do carry tiny mushrooms only parasact carries big mushrooms but you dont have to catch them to get the have a pokemon learn theif and use it at mt moon and after the battle your pokemon will be holding it

1.) Go to Mt.Moon
2.) Look For A Paras catch it, or use theif and it 90% of the time it should be holding a Tiny Mushroom or Big Mushroom

Go to Mt Moon and press "a" on all unbroken rocks you see, youll get loads.

As stated by the others here, the simple solution is to catch Paras and Parasect and to take the mushrooms (which the MAY be holding) from them. You could also use a move like thief to get it from wild paras and parasect without having to capture them.
The best place (in my opinion) to get Paras and Parasect is in the lower areas of Mt.Moon. (ie, enter Mt.Moon from Route 4, head up till the dead end, make a right and enter the hole going down with the ladder in it). Here paras and parasect will be the only Pokemon you will encounter.
Catch them, take it from them.
