I've been trying to get past the Seafoam Island for like 2 days. Can someone tell me how to get through?!!!

This post is as accurate as possible, but might have some errors in it as it has been a fair length of time since I did this challenge (the most likely being that the locations I give for boulders are not correct).
When you first enter the Fuchsia City side of the Seafoam Islands head northeast and you will see a boulder. Push this boulder through the hole near it and jump through after, then repeat the process untill you land in a strong current. Once you regain the ability to move your character, get out of the water and head up the stairs to your east. Push the boulder through this hole and follow. The current will be blocked off, so you can now head onto the land east of the boulders and proceed up the ladder chain and out of the islands.
