When your Pokemon attacked a wild Pokemon and that Pokemon might have pokerus, the virus itself will attach to your pokemon.

It's an extremely random virus, just get intro random fights with other Pokemon and hope for the best. Don't do trainer battles, only wild. Also, another member has said use something like Tackle on Route 102, that could work.

You have to get into random battles with wild Pokemon only.

I think there's a higher chance for your Pokemon to get infected by the virus if you train and battle wild Pokemon on route 117. Believe it or not, it works for me.
