Question for Pokemon Emerald

I was getting my Pokemon team together and I realized my Absol was not working out. So I have only five Pokemon in my team and I am asking for anyone's opinion for a Pokemon that they think is is a good choice for my team.
This is my team.
1 Exploud
2 Flygon
3 Golduck
4 Gardevoir
5 Metagross

P.S. Pick a Pokemon with a high defense rating and/or special defense rating.

I would advise dumping Golduck and Exlpoud. Replace then with something more powerful or bulky. If you started with Mudkip I say put Swampert in over Golduck, and I guess Exploud is fine.

I would say Donpahn, he has good defense and I have one he would work out great!

I would say Aagron. He has very good Defense and you can teach him good moves like thunder and ice beam.

Ditch gardevoir and put your hoen starter. And put a nice fire type there or teach flygon and exploud flamethrower. Put absol on your team. You migh need it.
