I found Latias just by surfing on the water between the berry masters house..

Question for Pokemon Emerald

I found Latias just by surfing on the water between the berry masters house and mauville but I can't keep fighting him he keeps fleeing what can I do to be able to catch him without a master ball.

Ps I can track him by pokedex now but every time I get near him he runs away and gos to a different route
Please help

Get a super strong Pokemon that knows block like around Lv.60-70 or get a Lv.60-70
Wobbufette or Wynaut. They will prevent it from fleeing, use a status attack such as paralyze, sleep, poison etc. AND DON"T FORGET TO STOCK UP ON ULTRA BALLS.
I found this works for me but when the ball opens, press A+B+L+R I figured it kinda makes it an Ultra Ball.

Yeah, don't ever use fly, it will MAKE HIM MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE!!
I don't really know much, I caught mine in 1 shot 1st time I saw it with an ultra ball... Don't give up!!

PS he moves more if you just saw him. If you wait a couple of hours after you see him, He won't run so much!

Have a Pokemon with the move hpnoses. Also give the Pokemon quick claw. Useb hpnoses and thgrow a ball(ultra). Keep repeting and vala you got Latias or latios
