How Do You get the fossils in the desert? I know you have to go into a pillar, How do you get it to show?

Correction: Talk to the Fossil Maniac and he will direct you to the desert to find the fossils. Then, go to the Desert and enter the tower of sand in the middle of the field. Go in and ascend, using the Mach Bike to ride over the cracked tiles on the second floor. On the very top floor, you will find both fossils; when you take one, the tower will collapse and the fossil that you did not pick will sink into the sand. However, the fossil that you did not pick up will become available again after the Pok�mon League.

You have to go to Fallarbor town and talk to the Fossil Maniac. Once you talk to him, the Pillar will appear. But, you need a Mach bike to proceed. There are cracks in the floor, like in Rayquaza's Sky Pillar. Trapinch and Sandshrew appear in the pillar. When you get to the top, you have a choice of the Root fossil, or the Claw fossil. Which-ever one you choose doesn't matter. You get the other one later on in the game.

I found the tower when I had 6 badeges at the bottem entry to the desert I went in I had to use a mach bike to get across (alot like sky piller) and went up two ladders and the fossils where there.
PS. You don't have to beat the Elite Four to find it. Thats Sky Piller this is Mirage Tower.
