Question for Pokemon Emerald

Here is a funny question for someone who lives in NY maybe...

I keep hearing about these wonder spots but can't seem to find anything on the internet about them or their locations. What exactly is it and where can I find one? I live in Japan and there was a new pokemon store opened up the other day... I looked around but didn't see anything screaming wonder spot, but that doesn't mean that I didn't look right at one and not know it! :P From what I hear, they are used with the wireless adapter and mistery gift... to get access to the altering cave and various tickets???

Ok, I live in NY, and I had trouble with this. You have to go to a Pokemon Center/Store or whatever they call it, and I mean in real life, not the game. I put in my Wireless Adapter in by some machine. I finally got it!! That's how I FINALLY got the tickets to get Deoxys and Lugia and Ho-Oh in FireRed. It's kind of comlicated to explain but there it is...
