special attack and special defense

Special Attack is used when a Pokemon does a mental attack like flamethrower , it does a lot of damage unless the Pokemon is rock , water, ground , and dragon. Special Defense is when your Pokemon is attacked by a mental move like water gun and it may be super effective if : 1. There a fire, ground, rock , anything with these types are hurt badly by it. Other Pokemon, it's just not very effective or normal effective.

Special Attack is a stat that grows as the Pok�mon levels up. It determines how strong a Special Attack is. In Emerald, Special Attacks are any Water, Ice, Dark, Psychic, Electric, Fire, Dragon, or Grass type moves, like Water gun and Dragonbreath. The higher the Special Attack, the more damage these moves will do. It's wise to have a Pok�mon with the previously mentioned type(s) have strong Special Attack so it will deal more damage.

Special Defense is a stat that gorws as the Pok�mon levels up. It determines how much resistance a Pok�mon will put up when hit with a Special Attack, like Faint Attack or Thunderbolt. The higher the Special Defense, the less damage a Special Attack will do. It's smart to have strong Special Defense if your Pokemon has a weakness to Water, Ice, Dark, Psychic, Electric, Fire, Dragon, or Grass type moves.
