When your on the mountain (where the cable cars are), go down the mountain side to the city where the fourth gym is. Half way down, there is a section of rock that will activate when you come near it with the Magma medallion. An entrance will open. ( I can't remember if a guy stand outfront or not).

The land lair is halfway down jagged pass but thats not whare you can catch groudon you can only see him to catch him you need to beat the elit four then go to go to the weather instatute go to the guy that gave you the castform he will say theres a drout on a route(if you go slowly to the route groudons lair will move so talk to the scientist again)groudons lair will be in a rockey face or cliff side

Thats not the land lair for catching Groudon, you only see him there. The land lair only appears after you beat the elite four and then you go to the weather institute and talk to the guy who gave you Castform, He'll then tell you a route where it's really sunny and then you go there and you'll find the cave. Same goes for Kyogre
