I am married to Ann and I NEVER had any rival to deal with. I personally think that Ann is the easiest girl to get married to. You can tell if someone is "flirting" with someone else when you have a rival heart scene.

Ann's rival is Cliff so if cliff is go out of the town you can flirt her anytime and anywhere ;)
You can tell it when you see their rival black heart event.
