Question for Golden Sun: The Lost Age

I know that you have to go trough the desert to get to Briggs but i'm having trouble with getting trough the desert and how do you get dig. p.s please anwer I really need help.

Hi,
listen first you keep going inside the desert untill you see something that moves inside the ground.

There are some rocks or somthing like that you push them inside the ground with pound then the thing that keeps moving inside the sand will get out.

Go to the next area then do the same thing and after doing it in the three areas you will have to fight him he is a scorpion and then you will continue the story after you beat him.
